Chris Hogan SB53 Prop Predictions

Patriots Chris Hogan Super Bowl 53 Props, 1/29/19 Predictions & Odds

Patriots receiver Chris Hogan caught five passes against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game two weeks ago but what kind of impact will the receiver make versus the Rams in Super Bowl 53?

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Patriots are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Rams. The total, meanwhile, sits at 56.5 points. As of this writing, 79% of the public betting tickets are on the Patriots to cover the point spread.

Player Snapshot

Chris Hogan finished with 35 catches for 532 yards and three touchdowns in 2018. The yards were the second-most of his career (he had 680 receiving yards for the Patriots in 2016) but the 35 receptions and three touchdowns were in line with his career averages.

Chris Hogan Super Bowl Prop Predictions

Hogan averaged 2.19 receptions per game, 33.25 receiving yards and 15.20 yards per catch during the regular season. In the postseason, Hogan has eight receptions for 58 yards on 12 targets and no touchdowns. His best game came against Kansas City, racking up five catches for 45 yards on seven targets. His long against the Chargers was only five yards and his longest reception versus the Chiefs was 11 yards.

Chris Hogan Total Receptions: O/U 3.5

Chris Hogan Total Receiving Yards: O/U 41.5

Chris Hogan Total Receiving Yards on First Reception: O/U 10.5

Chris Hogan Longest Reception: O/U 19.5

Chris Hogan Will he Score a FIRST HALF Touchdown: Yes (4/1); No (1/6)

When the Patriots offense is firing on all cylinders, they’ll use their running backs to create mismatches against linebackers in the passing game and they’ll methodically move the ball up the field. Even though they wound up scoring a bunch of points against the Chargers and Chiefs, their game plan in those respective matchups centered on ball-control. Assuming they also try to play keep away from the Rams in Super Bowl 53, then I don’t see Hogan eclipsing his game totals and thus, I like the under for most of his props. Plus, if you go by his regular-season averages, the under looks like a wise investment across the board.

Chris Hogan Total Receptions: Under 3.5

Chris Hogan Total Receiving Yards: Under 41.5

Chris Hogan Total Receiving Yards on First Reception: Under 10.5

Chris Hogan Longest Reception: Under 19.5
