The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook opened the game at a pick’em but the Chiefs quickly became 1-point favorites over the 49ers for Super Bowl 54. That line is now up to 1.5 at some books, while the total opened at 51.5 and has been bet up to 52.5 at the sportsbooks that have released odds.

Kansas City Chiefs Season Betting

With their victory over the Titans in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, the Chiefs improved to 14-4 straight up and 12-5-1 against the spread. The over cashed in 10 of their 18 games played this season, although that record was 3-5 on the road this year. The Chiefs were also 7-1 away from Arrowhead Stadium and 6-2 against the spread.

San Francisco 49ers Season Betting

After throttling the Packers 37-20 in the NFC title game, the 49ers are now 15-3 on the season and 11-6-1 against the spread. The over is 9-8-1 in their 18 games, but just 3-4-1 when San Francisco played away from Levi’s Stadium. The Niners also went 7-1 straight up and 6-2 against the spread on the road, which are the same records that the Chiefs posted away from Arrowhead this season.

Head-to-Head

These two teams last met during the 2018 regular season with the Chiefs ousting the 49ers 38-27 as a 5.5-point home favorite. That game occurred in Week 3 of the regular season with Patrick Mahomes accounting for three touchdown passes in the win. That was the same game that Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a season-ending knee injury as he attempted to gain more yards on a scramble up the sidelines.
