Thunder vs. Magic Pick
Will the Oklahoma City Thunder cover the spread as road favorites tonight at the struggling Orlando Magic? Tip-off is set for 7PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder are listed as a 6.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 212 points.
Oklahoma City comes in with an 8-11 overall record and 8-11 ATS after a 97-81 loss at the Mavericks. Orlando is 8-13 overall and 9-11-1 ATS following a 121-109 loss at the Pacers, its ninth defeat in a row. The two meetings were split 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS last season. The over-under also went 1-1.
The Thunder were paced by Russell Westbrook with 28 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in the loss at Dallas. Carmelo Anthony tallied 16 points and three boards. Jerami Grant added nine points off the bench. Oklahoma City was outscored a combined 53-31 in the second and third quarters.
Jonathon Simmons recorded 21 points and three rebounds in the loss at Indiana. Aaron Gordon had 16 points, six boards and four blocked shots. Nikola Vucevic added 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. The Magic were outscored 36-25 in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma City is 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
Two struggling teams here, but only the Thunder were expected to be a lot better than this. Orlando should be a good get-right opportunity at a team that has lost nine games in a row, but OKC should have also won handily at Dallas according to oddsmakers and instead lost by 16. The Magic would love to end this losing skid and they should at least be able to keep tonight's game within the number.
