Jazz topple Pelicans

Utah picked up a 128-120 victory Saturday night over New Orleans to improve to 11-5 overall and 8-1 at home. The Jazz led 74-54 at halftime and held off a second-half comeback by the Pelicans. Donovan Mitchell led Utah with 37 points on 12-of-26 shooting including 6-of-13 from 3-point distance plus 7-of-7 at the free throw line. He also accounted for seven rebounds and five assists. Bojan Bogdanovic tallied 28 points, five boards and five assists. Jeff Green registered 15 points, four caroms and three assists off the bench. Tony Bradley registered 14 points and nine rebounds filling in for the injury Rudy Gobert. Mike Conley had 11 points, five dimes and four boards. Emmanuel Mudiay added 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Bucks ease past Pistons

Milwaukee improved to 13-3 overall and 5-1 at home Saturday night with a 104-90 victory over Detroit. The Bucks led 54-47 at halftime and outscored the Pistons in every quarter of the contest. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 28 points on 12-of-22 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 3-of-9 at the free throw line. He also recorded 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Wesley Matthews accounted for 13 points and three assists. Eric Bledsoe added 11 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Prediction:

Utah does not know if it will have Gobert available tonight, which would be a major blow. But the Jazz do have a fantastic history against the Bucks as they have covered 26 of the last 34 meetings. Milwaukee is tough of course, but the Jazz play good defense even without Gobert manning the middle and if Mitchell or Bogdanovic get hot they can keep up with anyone. I'll take the points here with Utah.
