Utah Jazz Fantasy Spin

Ricky Rubio (left hip tightness) is doubtful to play vs. Memphis on Friday. A sore left hip cost Rubio three games last season, right around this time, so Utah may decide to play it safe rather than risk a prolonged absence. Raul Neto (hamstring) is also out again, so the Jazz will have to get creative with Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell and Royce O'Neale likely to do most of the ball-handling. We're considering Rubio day-to-day and owners should just hold tight until we get more information -- hip 'tightness' is pretty vague.

Memphis Grizzlies Fantasy Spin

Mike Conley was back on Tuesday after a day of rest and hit 12-of-18 shots, 6-of-7 3-pointers and 10-of-15 free throws on his way to a career-high 40 points, three rebounds, four assists and a steal in 35 minutes of a 120-111 win over the Blazers. Conley outplayed both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, scored 19 in the fourth quarter, and showed no signs of rust after getting a day off. He's still a bit of a shut-down candidate, but he's not talking (or playing) like a guy who is thinking about shutting it down. Just keep rolling him out there as long as he's playing, and hope that he continues to lead the Grizzlies in scoring down the stretch.

The Jazz are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games versus the Grizzlies, but the road team has covered in five straight meetings between these two squads.

Memphis

The Grizzlies have covered the spread in four of their last five games and are 7-2 against the number in their last nine home games.

Prediction

There’s no question the Jazz have a talent advantage tonight, not to mention are averaging more points per game, rebounds and field goal percentage. That said, the Grizzlies upset a previously-hot Trail Blazers team on Tuesday, outscoring Portland 38-25 in the final quarter of a 120-111 victory. Mike Conley scored a career-high 40 points while making six-of-seven 3-point attempts as Memphis continues to be a solid ATS team of late. The Grizzlies have won two of the previous three meetings with the Jazz this season. They may not win outright as they did on Tuesday night, but I’ll back the Grizzlies again as a home dog.
