Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Kings are 11.5-point favorites to beat the Knicks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 231 points and as of this writing, 54% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Kings to cover the point spread.
New York Knicks Fantasy Spin
Emmanuel Mudiay netted 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting Sunday, to go with two 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and one turnover in 29 minutes off the bench. Mudiay is essentially locked into a value-killing, timeshare situation with Dennis Smith Jr., and that PG rotation in New York will only get worse once Frank Ntilikina (groin) gets back to the court. Since returning from the shoulder injury, Mudiay has contributed averages of 15.8 points, 2.8 assists, 1.6 triples, 1.2 steals and 2.4 turnovers per contest on 47.1% shooting from the field and 63.6% from the stripe. He’s only a low-end option in deep leagues.
Sacramento Kings Fantasy Spin
Harry Giles scored 15 points with five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 17 minutes against the Clippers on Friday. He did play well in limited minutes yet again after his 18-point, 17-minute Wednesday. The bad news is that Giles didn’t see PF minutes next to Willie Cauley-Stein, and that’ll be much less likely to happen with Harrison Barnes in the mix. Giles is on the radar again because Marvin Bagley (knee) was playing some center to take playing time away, but he’s more of a streaming play.
NBA Betting Trends
New York
The Knicks are 8-17 against the spread in their last 25 games following an ATS loss.
Sacramento
The Kings have covered the spread in 13 of their last 16 home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
Prediction
The Kings are struggling but they should take out the frustration tonight against the lowly Knicks. They’re 11-2 against the spread in their last 13 hoe games, are 6-1 against the number in their last seven games coming off a loss and are 9-3 at the betting window in their last 12 games overall. They’re also 25-8 ATS in their last 33 games versus Eastern Conference foes while the Knicks are just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Monday NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings -11.5
