Atlanta Hawks DFS Notes
Trae Young went off for 40 points on 14-of-20 shooting Wednesday, to go with three boards, eight dimes, four triples and two steals across 35 minutes in a win over the Celtics. The Hawks were coming off four straight losses, but Young ensured they didn't drop their fifth straight tonight, exploding in the fourth with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. He did commit an unfortunate eight turnovers while he was out there, but he was also a perfect 8-of-8 from the stripe, and he surpassed 4000 career points tonight — making him the fastest player in Atlanta history to reach that total. He also joined LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Shaquille O'Neale and Rick Barry as the only players in NBA history with 15-plus, 40-point games before turning 23 years old. He's pretty good.
Boston Celtics DFS Notes
Jayson Tatum snapped out of his shooting funk on Wednesday, going 11-of-21 from the field and 10-of-11 from the stripe for a team-high 35 points over 35 minutes in a loss to the Hawks. Tatum had been connecting on just 34.9% of his shot attempts in his previous six outings, but he was much more efficient tonight and added six rebounds, six assists, three triples, two steals and three turnovers while he was out there. While Tatum was able to bust out of his slump, Jaylen Brown had a tough time getting his shot to drop, going 6-of-20 from the field (8-of-8 FT) for 22 points, three rebounds, seven assists, two triples and three turnovers in 35 minutes.
