Baltimore Orioles vs. Oakland Athletics, 6/18/19 MLB Predictions & Odds

The Oakland Athletics couldn’t pick up a lopsided win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, but still got the victory. Will Oakland put together another win today at 10:07PM ET?

According to oddsmakers, the Athletics are the clear favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -240 to win. The Orioles are listed with a money line of +200 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 9 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 73 percent going on the Athletics at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Orioles drop sixth straight

Baltimore suffered a sixth straight loss on Monday night in a 3-2 loss to the Athletics. The Orioles are 21-51 on the season, 12-23 on the road and 35-34 with the under. Gabriel Ynoa gets the start for the Orioles today. He is 0-3 on the season with a 5.02 ERA.

The Orioles had just three hits in Monday’s loss. They scored two runs in the second inning and couldn’t produce another. Both runs for the Orioles came on a pair of sacrifices and were unearned. Andrew Cashner had a respectable start, going six innings while allowing one earned run. He took the loss, falling to 6-3 on the season. Hanser Alberto had the lone RBI for the team.

Athletics seek a win streak

Oakland won the series opener on Monday, but the Athletics have struggled to establish much of a winning streak as of late. The Athletics are 37-36 on the season, 20-17 at home and 38-35 with the under. Brett Anderson is getting the start for Oakland tonight. He is 6-4 on the season with a 3.89 ERA.

Oakland only had five hits on Monday, but turned that into three runs thanks to an error from the Athletics. Mike Fiers pitched 6.2 innings and didn’t give up an earned run to improve to 7-3 on the season. Blake Treinen got his 16th save of the year by pitching a perfect ninth inning. Matt Olson had the lone RBI for the team while Marcus Semien scored a pair of runs.

MLB Betting Trends

Baltimore

The Orioles are 15-37 in their last 52 against AL West opponents and 33-98 in their last 131 road games.

Oakland

The Athletics are 13-3 in Anderson’s last 16 home starts against a team with a losing record and 6-2 in his last eight home starts overall.

Prediction:

Ynoa hasn’t been terrible, but he has been pretty predictable at giving up about 3-4 runs over 4-6 innings. That could be trouble for Baltimore, which has struggled to hit. Anderson has been more consistent, allowing three runs or less in his last five starts while getting into the seventh inning steadily. Oakland has the better pitching and better hitting. I don’t care for the lopsided odds, but I don’t see Baltimore putting together a win today.

MLB Prediction: Oakland Athletics -240
