White Sox drop game three
After winning the first two games of the series in upset fashion, the White Sox lost the third game of the series on Wednesday, 5-3. Chicago is now 16-19 on the season, 8-9 on the road and 20-14 with the over. The White Sox have Manny Banuelos on the mound this afternoon. He is 2-1 this year with a 5.96 ERA.
The White Sox were in position for another upset, entering the ninth inning tied 3-3 on Wednesday. However, Kelvin Herrera gave up a two-run walk-off home run to see the game end. Reynaldo Lopez was competitive on the mound in his start. Lopes went six innings, giving up three runs on nine hits. At the plate, Jose Abreu connected on his ninth home run of the season, giving him 34 RBI as well.
Indians grab a win
Cleveland put an end to their hitting woes on Wednesday, putting up five runs to grab a victory in the series. The Indians are now 19-16 on the season, 10-7 at home and 18-16 with the under. Cleveland has Carlos Carrasco on the mound today. He is 2-3 on the season with a 5.60 ERA.
The Indians were in danger of being upset by the White Sox again, but Jose Ramirez connected on a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to give Cleveland the victory. Shane Bieber pitched 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, but the Cleveland bullpen pitched 2.2 innings of 1-hit ball. Ramirez was one of five Indians with two hits on the night. Tyler Naquin also had two hits and drove in a pair of runs.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox are 3-7 in their last 10 Game 4’s of a series and 3-10 in their last 13 Thursday games.
Cleveland
The Indians are 21-8 in Carrasco’s last 29 home starts, but just 4-10 in their last 14 home games against a left-handed starter.
Prediction:
Cleveland didn’t look all that great on Wednesday again. They find themselves as a big favorite following a win, but Carrasco hasn’t been the lockdown pitcher oddsmakers are painting him to be. He has given up four runs in each of his last two starts. The Indians still aren’t scoring a great deal of runs. While Banuelos has a terrible ERA, it is because he blew up against Boston, giving up nine runs in 2.2 innings. He had allowed just five earned runs over 20 innings prior to that. I just can’t trust that Carrasco is going to shine today against a team that is producing more runs than Cleveland.
MLB Prediction: Chicago White Sox +200
