RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 5 RAGTOP RED 4/1

# 9 PICKLES N ME 6/1

# 6 P R WHY NOT 8/1

My selection for this race is RAGTOP RED. Some very strong numbers have been posted by this trainer's entries racing at this distance and surface. Reason to like this gelding as he has in the irons one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last month. PICKLES N ME - He has a good opportunity in this contest as trainer, Anderson, has strong win clip with horses going this distance.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 4 DELVECCHIO 5/1

# 1 STONE CARVER 9/5

# 6 MR. DAZZLE 7/1

I like DELVECCHIO here. Going in a dirt sprint race gives this gelding a formidable shot. This gelding has been constatntly racing well in his latest outings. STONE CARVER - Ought to come out sharp - I have liked the way this gelding has moved sharply to the front end recently. Overall the speed figures of this equine look strong in this affair. MR. DAZZLE - Sound average Equibase Speed Figs in dirt sprint races make this animal a definite contender. This horse has a fantastic winning percentage in dirt sprints.

Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts
PURCHASE

Bar

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #9 - Post: 5:00pm - Maiden Special - 8.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $20,000 Class Rating: 81

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#2 PURE RHYTHM (ML=5/2)
#6 EVER SMART (ML=3/1)

PURE RHYTHM - Horses out of the barn of Stidham have been solid on the grass. Should do well today. Stay with this horse. No other viable speed gives this horse a strong chance at the winner's circle. Based on her last TrackMaster turf fig alone, I'm going to play this animal. EVER SMART - After the event aboard this equine on April 19th, the jock is going to be in tune with the filly much better. Finished in the place spot, but easily runner up over the third horse. Those types usually run well next time out.

Vulnerable Contenders: #13 CHECKSANDBALANCES (IRE) (ML=7/2), #9 COMPLETED (ML=4/1), #3 DARK LIGHTNING (ML=5/1),

CHECKSANDBALANCES (IRE) - If she goes off at the morning line of 7/2, I'll have to pass. COMPLETED - Trying to beat this thoroughbred in today's event at the reward of 4/1. DARK LIGHTNING - The extended time off will probably bring problems for this entrant.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Bet on #2 PURE RHYTHM to win if you can get at least 9/5 odds

EXACTA WAGERS:
Box [2,6]

TRIFECTA WAGERS:
2 with 6 with [9,12,13] Total Cost: $3

SUPERFECTA WAGERS:
2 with 6 with [3,9,10,12,13] with [3,9,10,12,13] Total Cost: $20

SUPER HIGH 5 WAGERS:
[2,6] with [2,6] with [3,9,12,13] with [3,9,12,13] with [3,9,12,13] Total Cost: $48

DH Masters NA: GenG ML v Evil Geniuses @ 2.35/+135 (2.5 Units)

-I was a huge believer that EG would overtake the #1 spot in NA from Liquid and have a trajectory as high as anybody, but it just hasn't happened. They've had consistently disappoint results for 3+ months and really haven't shown much improvement during that period. GenG on the other hand have made drastic improvements and should be the outright favorites in this match to me. Their game vs 100Thieves today was an 0-2 loss, yes, but 100T looked like a reenergized squad and that result didn't come as a shock as we had 100T in that match.

EG have no map to comfortably pick into for this one and GenG should be able to take the likes of Train/Inferno/Mirage all the while being VERY narrow dogs on any map EG should pick into.

BLAST Premier CIS: 1WIN +1.5 v Syman @ 1.69/-145 (2 Units)

-Syman roster is all over the place since losing kreaz and they've looked dismal since that point. They look dysfunctional and 1WIN is a roster made up of has-beens in the CIS scene but still managed to put up a very good fight versus VP a couple days ago. Decent chance they win outright but just going to take the handi here.

BLAST Premier CIS: Nemiga ML v VirtusPro @ 2.20/+120 (2 Units)

-Until VP can implement YEKINDAR into the lineup properly, that change isn't a huge upgrade over buster. Buster was the rock of that team and isn't that easy to replace a player like that. While YEKINDAR has star potential, that'll take some time to play around as buster was quite the opposite.

Nemiga banning Train here leaves the veto to their advantage, and the lack of depth on multiples of maps should take time for VP to accomodate a new player.

Brian Nadeau's Daily Picks

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #1
Picks Notes
#2 Tidal Field Stretch out sprinter and potential Lone F really woke up in her second start, while showing a lot more speed too with the blinkers added, and she's bred for this, has a ton of upside, and meets a very weak crew as well; look out.
#5 I Am A. Luring Stiff ML favorite has the best form on paper and would be no surprise, and she's tactical too, but at 0-for-16, and having never run in the money, taking under 2-1 sure seems like a quick way to the poor house; trying to beat.
#4 Biz Maker Closer has some solid form, but note it's her turf races that are best, and the dirt run two-back wasn't much, so sure, she could still win, but at underlaid odds, with no margin for error, she's tough to trust on top; underneath only.
Race Summary The price, upside, and added ground/added turn all figure to agree with the 2, who would be a big overlay at 9-2, as she has more upside than the rest of this field combined, so play her aggressively to win and place at 3-1 or better, while getting some added value by keying her to kick off the early Pk5, as she tipped her hand last time, which suggests today she could be throwing down a race the rest of these won't be able to handle.

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #6
Picks Notes
#10 Prison Padre Class riser looked good beating lesser last time, should be able to stalk what looks like an honest pace, makes the often pivotal third start off a long layoff, and should offer enough value to alleviate the post concerns; call right back.
#8 Cpl. Dionicio The chalk has the best overall form here and was just a solid 3rd at the level over a few of these, but there's ample speed here, and he's going to be wide and chasing the whole way, which won't help his chances in the lane; second-best.
#9 America's Simmard Deep closer will always be at the mercy of the pace, and it was too slow for him last time when behind the (unmentioned) #3 and the 8, but he gets a much fairer go of it here, at what will be a big number too; can pass a bunch in the lane.
Race Summary You should get enough value on the 10 to string along off the solid win last time, and at 5-1 or so he's plenty worth a look in all the slots, and especially in the late Pk5, and to kick off the late Pk4 as well, since entering these low-level non-winners lifetime off a win is never a bad thing, especially since the other nine here all lost their last time out.

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #8
Picks Notes
#6 Celestial Orb Veteran has really found her form again since getting back to the dirt, and while 1-for-21 is normally a knee-jerk toss, she's just 1-for-11 on the dirt, and meets a very weak field, and might be able to bounce off that 2nd last time and still win; love her chances here.
#12 Sold On Salsa Pace presser has the speed to negate this wide draw, was a decent 4th behind the pick last time, and is like that one in that her form is trending the right way of late, though it won't be easy turning the tables on what looks like a tough gal to beat; logical EX partner.
#9 Wowee Versatile miss was 2nd at the level last time, albeit in a very slow race, but she's been passing horses in the lane, which is more than most can say, so while she needs to find several lengths to get to the pick, she's still going to run by a lot of these late; can get a share.
Race Summary That 7-2 ML seems like a gift on the 6, as she catches a group there for the taking, and needs only to reproduce either of her last to win this, so play her aggressively to win and place at 5-2 or better, though you can get some built-in value by singling her in the late Pk5/Pk4 as well, since she looks way too tough for this modest group.

Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #3
Picks Notes
#5 Fly Nightly Should appreciate this easier spot after a couple of modest tries at the allowance level. Wouldn't want a price much shorter than the 3/1 ML offering, though.
#8 Lion Charmer Earned a big fig when off the turf last out, but his back turf form is fairly compelling with this group as well. Not out of the question.
#10 Gate Crew No match for an easy winner last time out, but that was a fairly encouraging turf debut for a barn that is better than their numbers at the meet show.
Race Summary Fly Nightly should be tough after facing better company in a couple of allowance tries, and he's tactical enough to find the right kind of spot in the early going.

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #4
Picks Notes
#3 Prized Warrior Quick enough to find the front if they want it, he could be in line for a great go of things near the top in a race without a ton of serious front-end speed.
#2 Hay Hay My My Tactical type looks like the one to beat, but this is his 15th lifetime start, so he's a bit tough to take as the likely chalk without a ton of excuses left.
#7 Finally Has some room to improve on the move over to the dirt, and the blinkers go on while dropping into the easiest spot he has seen so far.
Race Summary Prized Warrior showed improved pace last time out and would be well-served to put it to use against this group. He'd be playable at something like the 3/1 ML price.

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #5
Picks Notes
#4 Joyous Times Might get a bit overlooked in here, but she owns a couple of races that would keep her in the mix with this group. Worth a shot if a decent price holds up.
#1 Queens Embrace No arguing with what this filly has done on the local lawn, rattling off a couple of easy wins in the two- and three-back starts. The one to beat.
#2 Volador Giving her a pass for the main-track dud last time out, but she can get a good trip near the top, and her local turf debut produced a solid maiden win.
Race Summary Joyous Times may not be all of her 8/1 ML price, but she would still be attractive enough at something like 5/1 or 6/1 here with a couple of recent turf efforts that don't leave her totally overmatched with the rail runner who will offer a much shorter price.

Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

Northfield Park - Race #4
Picks Notes
#2 HIP HOP STAR Favorable starting spot, gets class relief, can return to winning ways.
#1 ZERO THE HERO Controlled easy pace in qualifying win for new, 33% barn.
#4 MACONUPWITHEDRAGON Fits on drop but he’s 2-for-50 the last two years.
Race Summary Hip Hop Star chased solid 1:24 split for 3/4s of a mile from the second tier before the favorites passed by. He should be forwardly placed a long way on the class drop with Wrenn in bike. Play 2-1 and 2-4 exactas.

Northfield Park - Race #8
Picks Notes
#5 QUICK ARACACHE Had excuses in last pair, prior effort stacks up well.
#4 TRUMP’S WALL Holds decided pace advantage in seasonal debut.
#2 GRAPE’S CHERRY Hit board in 10 of 21 as a 3-year-old, mostly from outer posts.
Race Summary Quick Aracache, last seen at Miami Valley, chased the winning favorite until the stretch three starts back, drew post 8 in follow-up, then broke stride in latest. He could spring a mild upset on best.

Northfield Park - Race #12
Picks Notes
#1 FLAWLESS STONE Had excuses in last pair, can upstage in-money finishes.
#2 CYNTHIA’S MAN Held off top one after 6 months on bench.
#4 SHEZA CHIP Had a win and two seconds in 12 days in fall sire stakes.
Race Summary Flawless Stone can turn the tables on Cynthia’s Man from their prior matchup. He was confidently driven, had to work around dead cover and missed by a neck. Play 1-2 and 1-4 exactas.

Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks

Fonner Park - Race #1
Picks Notes
#2 Irish Contessa Has become a consistent closer over the Fonner strip and has enough speed to stay very close early; has the ability to outfinish the major players.
#1 Moonfield Won two straight then was caught late and finished 2nd going longer last time; can set or force the pace and can be around for the good fight at the end.
#5 Ryrysweetie Goes for her 3rd straight win and has finished with good energy in most of her races; fits well with these.
Race Summary Irish Contessa should be able to benefit from a fast pace, can make a move and the leaders and will get the jump on any deep closers.

Fonner Park - Race #5
Picks Notes
#1 Front Office Was 3rd three times at this level and gets the services of Manrrique, who is hitting at 24 percent. Comes out of faster races and should be difficult to beat here.
#3 Backchatter Was on the board in all four starts this year, held on for 2nd in the Baxter Stakes and comes off a 3rd-place finish; should be tough to reel in.
#6 Best Trick Yet Turns back from running longer in all four starts this year and can make a solid late run vs. these. Has had 43 chances to get win No. 2 but his best can get him into the tri or super.
Race Summary Front Office was claimed for $5,000 by Donlin, Jr., to end 2019 and has his the board in three of four here for the new connections. Can carve out of a good stalking trip.

Fonner Park - Race #8
Picks Notes
#2 Indy N Roses Made a strong run from 7th and just missed by a nose; has done well at 6F here and has the class to prevail.
#1 Cheverie Has been a solid runner in both starts, including an easy win and then a good 2nd, most recently at this level; can battle it out from the start.
#6 May Flowers Missed by a nose vs. starter allowance company and has performed well in some good claiming races; late threat.
Race Summary Indy N Roses lost a heartbreaker last time and a similar effort should get her to the winner's circle.
