I'm recommending a play on Providence on Wednesday. Ed Cooley remains one of the most underrated coaches in college basketball. His Providence Friars were expecting big things before the season began, but few coaches in America have had to deal with bad luck injuries like Cooley has. We saw what this team can do when they whipped St. John's 94-72 on the road on December 28. They ran into a ticked-off Creighton squad last time out, catching the Jays after they had blown big leads at Seton Hall in their previous game. Providence, a strong shooting team from deep perimeter missed several open shots in Omaha, fell behind and couldn't catch up. Marquette shoots well from the perimeter too, but they aren't too hot at the other end where they rank 295th in FG percentage defense. The Golden Eagles are just 2-8 ATS off a SU win and Providence has fared well ATS in Big East play, going back to last season. The Friars still aren't 100-percent healthy, but we believe they'll have enough at the defensive end to win this matchup. We're recommending a play on Providence on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! The Rebels also lost by 14 in their last visit to Georgia. Suffice to say, payback is on order and Mississippi is catching the Dawgs at the right time as they are off of a grueling loss at Kentucky on Sunday. Georgia expended a ton of energy on the defensive end in that one and now host an Ole Miss team that is playing with a lot of confidence right now as they enter this game on a winning streak of 3-0 SU and ATS. The Rebels are on a 19-11 ATS run as an underdog and 16-9 ATS run in road games. Houston (-8) at ORLANDO

Wednesday comp play comes in the NBA on Houston to roll Orlando tonight.

It is this first season series meeting between the teams this season, and if last season is any indicator, tonight won't be close! Last year, Houston toppled Orlando in BOTH meetings, winning 24 points at home, and by 7-points in Orlando for a pair of spread covers as well.

Houston finally stopped their slide - it was at 5 straight losses - with an overtime win over the Lakers on December 31st, and now they will play their first game of 2018 as a rested and ready team against a Magic club that has recorded just 1 straight up win in their last 12 games played, and only 2 covers in that dozen game stretch.

Perfect spot for Houston to get back rolling once again.

Lay the road wood with the Rockets on Wednesday.

Chicago at N.Y. RANGERS (-140)

Let's back the New York Rangers at home in the Garden versus the Blackhawks as they come into this one scoring 3+ goals a game, good for 9th in the league in scoring. However, it is on the defensive side of the ice where they made the most impact. They give up only 2.69 Goals per game, that's 7th in the league in goals allowed. Their defense is currently holding teams to a mere 16% conversion on power plays making them the 4th best in the league at power kill.

The Blackhawks are struggling, they are just 1-4 in their last five games overall.

More importantly the Blackhawks are just 8-13 on the road this year. To make matters worse for them, the Rangers are 15-9 at the Garden.

Free play is the Rangers.
