My free play is on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their series with the Toronto Raptors. The top-seeded Raptors are laying a hefty price to the three-time defending Eastern Conference champs, and I just think you have to play the dog price on pure value and general principle.
The Cavaliers, with LeBron James leading the charge, took care of the Indiana Pacers in seven games. That was not a shock to me, as I spoke with several NBA radio analysts before the playoffs, and they thought that would be a tougher series than this one against Toronto.
Cleveland has a mental edge on the Raptors, and I am not convinced DeMar DeRozen and Kyle Lowry can do enough to derail King James. I do think the Eastern Conference reign is over, but that'll be at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The key to this series win will be experience and depth. Cleveland has the experience with LeBron and Kevin Love, and the Raptors' bench has been sketchy after producing a net rating of minue-9.9 - 14th among the 16 playoff teams.
The chore gets harder, from the Wizards to the Cavaliers, especially knowing Toronto was brutalized in the paint, with a rebounding percentage of 44.5 - dead last in the playoffs.
Sorry, but seeding gets thrown out the window, and Cleveland prevails.

I'm recommending a play on the Rays as a short road favorite against the Tigers on Tuesday. Tampa Bay is one of the hottest teams in the league right now. With a 3-2 win over Detroit in yesterday's series opener, the Rays have now won 9 of their lats 10 games.
While the offense didn't provide much of a punch yesterday, Tampa Bay has really been swinging the bats well. The Rays are averaging 6.7 runs and hitting .325 as a team over their last 7 games. I look for them to get back on track here against the Tigers' Matt Boyd, who is fresh off his worst start of 2018, as he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits with 3 walks in just 3 2/3 innings at Pittsburgh. Boyd has allowed a homer in each of his last 3 starts and has also struggled with his command with 7 walks during this stretch.
Tampa will counter with Chris Archer, who has had his ups and downs to start out 2018. The overall numbers aren't great for Archer, but we know the talent is there and this Tigers offense isn't very good, plus it's looking like there's a good chance they will be without their best hitter in Miguel Cabrera. Take Tampa Bay!

Kyle Gibson has a 6.24 ERA in two home starts this season. His stuff isn't that great although he did strike out 10 Yankees in his last outing. Gibson has a 4.95 ERA in six career starts against Toronto with the worst of his two efforts in 2017 coming at home against them. The Jays are putting up 5.6 runs per game against right-handed starters and have gone over in four of their last five with the fifth being a push. Marco Estrada is 2-2 with a 6.00 ERA in five starts for the Jays. He's allowed 7 HR's in 27 innings. Minnesota's offense is pretty good and they've gone over in nine of their last 11 contests. Both teams have shaky bullpens. I think this one can go over the total.

I'll take my chances here with the red-hot Marlins at home against the Phillies. Miami comes in having won 3 straight and are 5-1 in their last 6, but the betting public wants nothing to do with this team because of how bad they are supposed to be. As a result I feel we are getting some exceptional value here with the Marlins against a slumping Phillies team that has lost 3 straight. Not to mention Miami has the edge on the mound. The Marlins will send out Jarlin Garcia, who has a sensational 0.53 ERA and 0.765 WHIP in 3 starts, which includes 2 road starts at the Yankees and Dodgers. Philadelphia on the other hand is being forced to call up Zach Eflin to fill in for the injured Ben Lively. Eflin isn't anything special. He's got a 5.85 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 22 career starts and is 2-2 with a 4.05 ERA in 4 starts at Triple-A so far this year. Give me the Marlins -101!

Going to look for the Under to be the play in Game One of this Cleveland-Toronto series.
The Cavaliers did land Over the total on Sunday in Game Seven of their series with the Pacers, but they come into this Tuesday night battle having held Under the total in 5 of 7 this postseason. Overall, 12 of Cleveland's last 16 hoops games dating back to the regular season have stayed Under the total - including their April 3rd home meeting with the Raptors.
The Raptors and Wizards started their series with plenty of offense, as the first 3 all landed Over the total, but each of the last 3 in the series all held Under, and Toronto has now trended to the lower side of things with 7 Unders in their last dozen games played.
Series numbers do show 3 of the 4 meetings this year landing Over, but the Under is 21-8 the last 29 times these teams have played in Toronto.
With the Cavs a little spent after having to play the full 7 games against the Pacers in the opening round, I can definitely see them being a little weak in the legs and not finishing on their jumpers.
Let's play Game One Under the total between Cleveland and Toronto.

Game One's total truly depends on when you bet it, as it started as high as 225 1/2 and closed as low as 223 1/2. For purposes of this analysis, I am going to call it a push.
With Steph Curry due back for tonight's second game, I would think we will some more points posted before this one is done.
The Over is 7-2-1 the last 10 times these teams have faced one another, and the Over is 4-1-1 the past 6 times the teams have played at Oracle Arena.
New Orleans stands at 4-0 Over the total their last 4 games after netting 100 or more points, while Golden State is 4-1-2 Over the total the last 7 times they have played on their home floor.
With the Pelicans preferring to play the game at a faster pace - they may have to try and slow things down, but it is doubtful to me they will be able to do that for all 4 quarters - and the Warriors so adept at hitting from behind the arc, have to believe we are going to end with this game landing Over the posted total.
