2015 Indianapolis 500 Free Picks and Predictions
By Drew Sharper

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – Which driver will emerge with the checkered flag at the Indianapolis 500 today? Get our picks for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Scott Dixon comes into the race favored to win, as he has 9/2 odds. Now a group including Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya, Simon Pagenaud, Tony Kanaan and Will Power each have 6/1 odds. This Indianapolis 500 takes place today at Noon ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Scott Dixon is certainly one to consider wagering on. He is one the pole, which has produced the most winners of the Indy 500 (20). He also won this race the last time he was on the pole. The last six times he has started in the second or first row of this race, he has finished sixth or better. Look for him to be in the mix at the end.

Helio Castroneves has a nose for this race as well. He is a three-time winner and came close to making it four last year. He has seven top-5 finishes in the Indy 500 in his career and he will start from the fifth position, which puts him in a prime spot to be a contender all race.

If you are looking for a dark horse today, consider Carlos Munoz. He has 25/1 odds to win entering today. Munoz has competed in this race on two occasions. He finished second in his debut in 2013 and fourth last year. He is starting 11th today, so there is some work to do, but he clearly knows how to navigate this track. With the long odds, Munoz could provide a big payout today.
