2012 NASCAR Odds – Gatorade Duel 2 – Kyle Busch Favored

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The Gatorade Duels provide a chance for drivers to improve on their qualifying spot. Here is a look at the odds to win the second of the two duels.
The Gatorade Duels are a 60-lap, 125-mile race featuring half of the Daytona 500 qualifying field. The order of finish in this race will determine the right side of the starting grid on Sunday. Greg Biffle has already won the second position, but the winner of this race will start fourth and second place sixth, etc.
According to oddsmakers, Kyle Busch is the favorite to win this duel race, with 7/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (5/1) and Jimmie Johnson (6/1).
Kyle Busch owns one duel win, coming out victorious in 2009. Busch is coming off a win in the Budweiser Shootout and he has one win at Daytona in 23 races. His average finish in a full field is 17.6.
Jeff Gordon has won five duel races in his career, with the last coming in 2009. Gordon has competed in 85 races at Daytona and he owns a total of six wins and his average finish in a full field is 15.5.
Johnson has just one duel win, which came in 2010. Johnson has driven in 55 races at Daytona, only coming out victorious one time. His average finish in a full field is 17.0.
