2011 NASCAR Odds – Bank of America 500 – Johnson Favored By Oddsmakers

CONCORD, NC (TheSpread) – The Chase for the Championship hits its midway point on Saturday night as drivers compete in the Bank of America 500 from Charlotte Motor Speedway.

According to oddsmakers, Jimmie Johnson is the favorite to win the race with 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, who each have 7/1 odds while Jeff Gordon has 8/1 odds to win.

Johnson has two wins this year and is third in the point standings, four points out of first. His average finish on the year is 10.2 while his driver rating is 101.7. Johnson has six wins at Charlotte and an average finish of 10.8 in 20 races. His driver rating at the track is 112.8, which is tops for any driver in the series.

Edwards is leading the Sprint Cup standings by 1 point over Kevin Harvick. He has one win and 15 top 5’s on the year. His average finish this season is 10.2 and his driver rating is 99.8. He has never won at Charlotte but has four top 5’s and an average finish of 13.3 in 13 races. His driver rating at the track is 86.1.

Kyle Busch is eighth in the point standings and he has four wins and 13 top 5’s on the year. Busch has an average finish of 11.1 on the year and a driver rating of 107.4. At Charlotte, Busch has five top 5’s and eight top 10’s in 15 races. His average finish is 17.7 while his driver rating at the track is 106.5, which ranks second in the series.

Gordon is 10th in the current point standings. He has three wins and 11 top 5’s on the year. His average finish this year is 12.5 and his driver rating is 98.2. At Charlotte, Gordon has five wins with 16 top 5’s in 37 races. His average finish is 15.8 at this track while his driver rating is 88.3.

Took a big hit in fantasy this week. My C group is in bad shape. I need to pull out a miracle to hold onto the lead.
