Depressed and Humiliated

Depressed and humiliated. That's how Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson described the mood of his team Wednesday.

``It's accurate. I don't know how you wouldn't be after what happened last night,'' forward Luke Walton said after the Lakers watched the horror show that was Game 2 of their first-round NBA playoff series against the Phoenix Suns.

Billups Lighting Up Magic

The Orlando Magic have used a number of defenders on Detroit's Chauncey Billups, and none of them has been able to slow him down.

Billups has 43 points and 19 assists in two games, taking advantage of mismatches, avoiding double teams and finding open teammates.

He's one of the main reasons the Pistons have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 3 is Thursday night in Orlando, and the Magic believe guarding Billups will be key.

Warriors Frustrate Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki is tall enough to shoot over almost anyone. He's accurate enough to shoot from almost anywhere.

Yet surround him with a bunch of pesky defenders and the big German struggles. Case in point: Game 1 of the playoffs against Golden State.

With a variety of guys between 6-foot-3 and 6-9 charging at and swarming around the 7-footer, Nowitzki had one of his worst games of the season.

Wizards Must Stop Ilgauskas

At the mall or at the movies, Cavaliers 7-foot-3 center Zydrunas Ilgauskas stands out in a crowd.

On the court, he's still tough to miss, the biggest of the big men in the middle. But for some strange reason, the Washington Wizards couldn't find him in Game 1 - until it was too late.

With a huge size advantage down low, Ilgauskas scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter when Cleveland beat Washington 97-82 in the first-round playoff series opener.
