Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals

St Louis Cardinals sweeping Pirates over the weekend taking a lead in the NL Central take on the Milwaukee Brewers in a three game set starting Tuesday. Cardinals open the set handing the ball to Shelby Miller. The rookie right-hander 12-9 with a 3.19 ERA on the campaign has been solid in his three life-time starts vs Brewers posting a 2-0 record with a smart 1.47 ERA (3-0 TSR). Miller will match pitches with Wily Peralta carrying a 9-14 record with a 4.51 ERA. The Brewers' hurler snapped a four game winless streak last time out recording just his second win in eight attempts with Brew Crew 2-6 over the span. Peralta is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA in two career starts against the Cardinals. Given each hurlers history in this series and the fact Cardinals have dominated Brewers this season taking 10-of-13 meetings including 4-of-6 at Busch Stadium St Louis looks set to improve they're sharp 16-5 mark opening a home series, 6-2 record at home w/Miller following a win the previous game.

MLB Odds and Picks – Jordan Zimmermann in search of first win against Mets in 2013
By: The Linemakers
Sportingnews.com

With only 19 games remaining and a seven-game gap between them and the final wild card spot, the Washington Nationals are looking at slim playoff chances. However, their recent play -- they've won 14 of their last 19 games -- gives the impression that they still believe they have a shot; and with the Pirates' recent struggles, they want to make sure they take care of every opportunity available to them.

Jordan Zimmermann (16-8, 3.30 ERA) takes the mound at Citi Field and goes for a league-leading 17th win on the season. While Zimmermann has had some struggles against the Mets this season, the rest of the Nationals haven't -- especially when playing in New York. The Nats have won 16 of their last 20 games at Citi Field, including last night's 9-0 win -- a near no-hitter by Gio Gonzalez.

Not providing offense at Citi Field has been a problem all season for the Mets. Their 235 runs scored at home and .224 batting average at home both rank as the worst marks in MLB. Although Zimmermann is 0-3 against the Mets this season -- the Nats scored only two runs in 27 innings behind him in four starts -- he's been on a good run lately, compiling a 2.82 ERA over his last three starts.

Because of the Nats' current run and the Mets' cold bats, laying -130 behind Zimmermann looks to be one of the better plays of the day.

Expect Plenty of Runs in Cleveland

The Indians go for their seventh straight home win against the Royals tonight, and while the pitching matchup between Jeremy Guthrie and Zach McAllister doesn't necessarily favor them tonight -- even though Cleveland is a -110 favorite on the board -- it does scream lots of runs.

Guthrie is 1-3 with a 6.60 ERA in his last five outings against the Indians and gave up either five or six runs in four of those games. McAllister hasn't faced the Royals yet this season, but comes in off of two awful starts where he posted a 9.72 ERA in 8.1 innings of work. The posted total is 8.5 UNDER -120, and we'll lean to the OVER.

Tuesday selections:

Nationals (Zimmermann) -130 at Mets

Royals/Indians OVER 8.5 (EV)

Pirates (Liriano) +117 at Rangers

Second-half record: 83-88 (+14)
