MLB FREE PICK: Take Kansas City. According to latest MLB trends, Royals are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. American League Central, 12-4 in their last 16 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15, 8-3 in their last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter. Detroit is 1-4 in their last 5 Wednesday games,  0-4 in their last 4 overall.

These two teams were supposed to play on Tuesday, but the game was rained out. The Royals (10-7, 6-5 road, 6-11 O/U) are coming off a sweep of a doubleheader on Sunday, beating Boston 4-2 and 5-4. The Detroit Tigers (9-9, 4-2 home, 11-6 O/U) were swept by the LA Angels on the road, as they were outscored 22-4. Detroit comes into this game losing four straight as they send Max Scherzer to the mound against Wade Davis. The Royals are a strong value play with Davis on the mound. Last season, he was a swing man for Tampa Bay, going from bullpen to a starter. He has thrown 12 straight scoreless innings. He shutout a very good Atlanta team, allowing five hits over seven innings and striking out seven on April 17. Scherzer is 6-4 with a 3.48 ERA against the Royals. Kansas City is an underrated team who hits .264 (5th) as a team and has 28 home runs. They also have a team ERA of 3.31 thanks to the additions of Davis and James Shields from Tampa Bay. The Royals visit Comerica Park in Detroit to take on the Tigers at 7:08pmET on Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY MLB FREE PICK:  KANSAS CITY ROYALS +156
