NFL Playoff Betting Odds and Hoops Matchups: Jan. 13
Atssportsline.com
There are two more NFL playoff matchups on Sunday and they are highlighted by Houston trying to win a road game in New England and Seattle travelling to Atlanta. The winner of the AFC game will host Baltimore next Sunday, while the Seattle/Atlanta winner will take on San Francisco. There's also a scintillating college hoops game on CBS and a quality Eastern Conference matchup game on NBA TV.
Have a great Sunday!
Seattle (12-5 SU, 12-5 ATS, 8-9 O/U) at Atlanta (13-3 SU, 9-6-1 ATS, 5-11 O/U)
Last game: (10/12/11):Atlanta (-6) over SEATTLE, 30-28. Atlanta had a week off while Seattle had to travel to Washington D.C. They defeated the Redskins, 24-14, giving 3, although Robert Griffin III played on an injured knee. QB Russell Wilson will need to continue to play without making mistakes and Seattle's defense will look to slow down the pass. It will be interesting to see if Atlanta QB Matt Ryan can finally get over the hump and win his first playoff game. Atlanta can't run the football so the game will be on his shoulders. The series 4-1 last 5 matchups on the Over bet. Pro Football Line: Atlanta is a 3-point favorite. Total: 46.
Houston (13-4 SU, 10-7 ATS, 7-10 O/U) at New England (12-4 SU, 9-7 ATS, 11-5 O/U)
Last game: (12/10/12): NEW ENGLAND (-5.5) over Houston, 42-14. The Patriots dominated the Texans in December on Monday night. The Texans are coming off a 19-13 win at home last week, giving 4 against the Bengals. Houston hasn't played well the last month and will need a big game from their defense against Tom Brady and company. The weather won't be that bad (47 degrees) so that's a positive for the Texans, who play in a dome. The Patriots could rely more on RB Stevan Ridley, who has quietly had a very good season. New England is 1-7 ATS last 8 playoff home games. Pro Football Odds: New England is a 9.5-point favorite. Total: 46.
Michigan (16-0 SU, 9-5 ATS) at Ohio State (12-3 SU, 8-5 ATS)
Last game (3/10/12): Ohio State (-7.5) over Michigan, 77-55.: It doesn't get much better than Michigan and Ohio State. Michigan is coming off beating Nebraska at home, 62-47 on Wednesday but didn't cover the 21. Ohio State bounced back from a 19-point road loss to Illinois to beat Purdue on Tuesday, 74-64 giving 8. Guard Trey Burke leads the Wolverines with an 18.2ppg scoring average and 7.3 assists per game. Deshaun Thomas leads Ohio State with 20.3ppg and 6.8rpg. Ohio State needs a big game from point guard Aaron Craft. Ohio State is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. College Hoops Odds: Ohio State is a 1.5-point favorite. Total: 140.
Indiana (23-14 SU, 19-18 ATS, 13-23-1 O/U) at Brooklyn (21-15 SU, 17-17-2 ATS, 15-20-1 O/U)
Indiana just plows on with very little publicity. They've won 22 games in their first 36 without the help of their best player in Danny Granger. They've won four straight including their last game, a home win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday, giving 11.5, 96-88. The Nets might be without point guard Deron Williams, who suffered a thigh contusion aginst Phoenix, in Friday's 99-79 win. They are already without Gerald Wallace, who injured his ribs against Phoenix. The Nets' bench will be tested in this game though Marshawn Brooks, who scored 17 points against the Suns, is more than capable as a scoring replacement for Wallace. Indiana is 5-1 ATS last six on 0 days rest.
