Saturday Service Plays

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Bob Majors

UTEP +3 vs Rice

The Rice Owls (5-3; 4-1) travel to Texas El Paso Miners (3-4; 3-1) for an evening conference game and Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso Texas.QB Chase Clement a 66% passer leads the Owl offense as they average 40.1 ppg.  The Owl's leading tackler Andrew Sendejo has missed the last two games with an ankle injury is and is questionable this week for the defense.QB Trevor Vittatoe complete 21-34 passes for 306 yards and four TDs.  His offensive line allowed him to be sacked six times in a 77-35 loss to Tulsa last week.  UTEP's defense in not as bad as it look against Tulsa. The Owls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games on turf and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 conference games.  The Miners are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games versus a team with a winning road record.I expect the Miners to rebound this week and win straight up against the Owls.  Take the points with the home team.

Blade,
Who the #$%^ is John Fina..LMAO  The "Florida" Seminoles BEAT VT last week and when they lost to WF they had 7 starters still suspended. While his prediction maybe accurate: He should atleast know what he is talking about to give an opinion.

JIM FEIST

TEXAS / TEXAS TECH
Take:TEXAS TECH

No. 1 Texas is rolling along, but how good is this defense really? The Longhorns gave up 35 points to Oklahoma, allowing 435 yards (387 passing), something Texas Tech will attack. They then allowed 31 points to No. 11 Missouri. Texas Tech (8-0 SU, 5-1 ATS) continues to give headaches to defensive coordinators. Red Raiders coach Mike Leach has quite a system in place, plugging in players, going without an offensive playbook, while his pass-happy attack just keeps churning along. The offense averages 48 points and 418 yards passing! Their high-flying offense starts with senior QB Graham Harrell (28 TDs, 5 picks) and experienced receivers led by junior WR Michael Crabtree and sophomore Detron Lewis. The Red Raiders are 4-0 in the Big 12. The talented home team is getting too little respect from oddsmakers. Play Texas Tech.

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Jimmy The Moose

Chicago Blackhawks at Columbus Blue Jackets
Prediction: Over

The Blackhawks have played over the total in 6 of their 9 games this season. The over is a profitable 4-1-1 in Chicago's last 6 games. In their last 6 road games the over is also 4-1-1. In their last 4 games being played on the tail end of a back-to-back the over is 4-0. The Blue Jackets have also played the over in 6 of their 9 games to start the season. The over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 vs. Western Conference opponents. The over is 5-1 in Chicago's last 6 trips to Columbus. The over is a profitable 9-3 in the last 12 meetings between the clubs. Play the over.

The Gold Medal Club

Dallas @ Boston
PLAY: DALLAS +

We will certainly take advantage of a scheduling goldmine here. Boston returns home with little to no rest after completing there west coast road trip, and the first game back is always hard for any team in the NHL.
Now they face a Dallas team that is 8-2 in this series, and showed great resiliency in there last game against a solid Minnesota squad. The advantage here is with the Stars, and to catch them at this price is a gift! Enjoy

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Mr A

Tulsa at Arkansas

Arkansas has been successful on the ground, but will face Conference USA second-ranked rush defense. Look for Tulsa's explosive offense led by Quarterback David Johnson to overwhelm the Razorbacks in Fayetteville.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane -7

Temple Owls at Navy Midshipmen

Navy' ground attack ranked second nationally in rushing offense, averaging 310 yards per game should be enough to control and outscore the Owls ineffective offense in Annapolis.

Navy Midshipmen -7

Texas at Texas Tech

Two of the Big 12 unbeatens square off in Lubbock, Texas. The Longhorns have won the last five meetings and eight of the last ten, going 6-4 ATS. Going to be a great battle with two of the Nations top offenses collide. The Red Raiders’ defense will have the tougher task restraining Longhorns’ offense and Colt McCoy.

Texas Longhorns -3½

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Chris Jordan

Eastern Michigan at WESTERN MICHIGAN -17

Very rare will we find a decent enough contest in this conference to talk about, and this week is no different. Nonetheless, we have to talk about the Mid-American Conference at some point, and no better time than the present since I do like the Broncos laying the chalk against an inferior Eastern Michigan team.

The Eagles suffered their third straight loss last week, a 38-16 thumping at the hands of Ball State. It was the sixth time Eastern Michigan lost this season. Now this team heads back out onto the road for what will be a tough a chore with the 82nd ranked defense in the nation and 103rd ranked scoring D.

And while defense has been the Achilles Heel for the Eagles, it only gets worse against their cross-state rival that boasts the 21st best offense in the country, 34th-ranked scoring offense and seventh-best passing game.
Western Michigan comes in off a disappointing loss to Central Michigan, a setback that ended the Broncos’ six-game win streak. Eastern Michigan is mired in ATS skids of 2-6 overall, and 0-5 the last five times they come in off an ATS win, so let’s lay the chalk with the home team in this one and bank on the blowout.

2♦ WESTERN MICHIGAN

Georgia +6' vs. Florida, at Jacksonville

There is plenty at stake when these two get together in Jacksonville, as the Bulldogs and Gators are tied atop the SEC East standings with identical 4-1 records against conference foes. And though both teams lost on the same day last month, nothing has been lost in terms of luster between the Dawgs and Gators. Both teams are coming off monster wins – make note that neither looked ahead – as Florida crushed Kentucky 65-3 and Georgia ran all over LSU, 52-38.

Florida brings in the 7th-best scoring offense and the 21st-ranked rushing offense, but the scary thing about offensive-minded Urban Meyer’s bunch is the defense has been the culprit of a 6-1 start to the season. Ranked 13th in the nation, this stop unit has allowed 21 or less in six of its seven trips onto the football field. It will certainly have its hands full with Georgia’s potent offense, which ranks 25th in the nation and 24th with it scoring offense. The thing about Georgia is, it too has stifling defense, one that tanks 21st in the country and absolutely stuffs the run.

So what do we do with this game, which SEC power do we take?  I was tempted to play the Over in this one, but the under is 5-2 the last seven meetings. Instead, we’re going to play the underdog, especially since the pup in this cocktail party is on a 5-2 spread run. Georgia is also 5-1 against the number in its last six November outings, 4-0 in its last four on a neutral site and 8-3 ATS in its last 11 overall. Later Gators, we’re taking the Bulldogs.

This one will be held at Jacksonville, Florida and pretty much decide the SEC East. The Bulldogs have done a good job against the run, but the Gators aren’t interested in running right at them. Their offense is based on speed and exploiting mismatches. Other than their inexplicable loss to Mississippi Florida has been solid on defense. It’s maddening to think their season could be ruined by a missed extra point. Both teams just mugged overrated LSU, but what the Gators just did to Kentucky shows how intent they are on making a run. Mix in a little motivation from a certain celebration last year and this is what you get.

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Wunderdog

Boston at Indiana
Pick: First Half UNDER 96.5

The Celtics hung another banner in Boston, not because of the offensive prowess of Allen, Garnett, and Pierce, but because of their commitment to defense where they were tops in the league. So what do we see this year? A team that has held their first two opponents to just 82.5 points per game, and last night Chicago scored 31 in the first half. The Pacers played a similar defensive-minded team in Detroit and managed just 40 first-half points. Indiana is just not a team that will score a lot against a team committed to defense. To protect against a Boston blowout and no second-half defense, the most value is on the first-half UNDER here.

Ottawa at Tampa Bay
Pick: Ottawa +101

Both Ottawa and Tampa will be out for their third consecutive wins as they face-off in Tampa tonight. For the first time the Lightning have won back-to-back games under coach Barry Melrose. They have, however, really struggled on home ice this season with just a 1-2-3 mark as Ottawa is now picking up steam by winning each of their last two on the road. This has been a series completely dominated by Ottawa who has won 12 of the last 16 played between these teams. More importantly is that they have taken the last two of three played in Tampa, and in a longer run they have won six of the last eight in Tampa. Ottawa has it going on the road (3-1) and playing well against a team they have dominated. Ottawa gets the call here.

Re: Saturday Service Plays

Mr East

Florida Gators @ Georgia Bulldogs
Pick: 3 unitsFlorida Gators -6.5

I have gone 5-1 in NCAA-F this week, and 65% (41-22). My lone loss was on the Buff/Ohio,U. under when a 2pt defensive point after TD left me losing by 1/2 a point. I was going to add this to my premium plays, but I have 5 going already, and added a 6th that was for clients only, which is a special situation play, not available but to subscribers. This is a game I will be personally playing, but decided to offer it as a complimentary play. It will allow the vast majority, that haven't seen my writeups, to evaluate where I come from on a particular game.

This is basically a BCS Bowl elimination game, the loser is out, the victory likely wins the SEC East, and into a BCS Bowl. Last year Georgia took it to Florida. The Gators were without Tebow being 100%, as he was nursing a shoulder injury. The Bulldogs were also off a bye, and certainly had some advantages going in. This year there are a lot of things going against them. The Bulldogs have currently played their last 2 games, against the last 2 BCS Champions, and 3 straight against a ranked opponent. That means they will come into this one mentally, physically, and emotionally drained. I don't think that will be a factor early, as the magnitude of this game will keep the adrenlin pumping at least at the onset. It will show up in the second half, when I believe Florida will take control.

The stats say Georgia is a combined 1-52-1 ATS yes you read that right 1-52-1 ATS when....

>  Florida is 16-1-1 ATS off of a SU & ATS win with conference revenge

< Florida is 10-0 ATS vs Georgia off of 2 SU & ATS wins

< Georgia Coach Mark Reicht is 0-18 ATS in SU losses as a dog of less than double digits

< Teams that beat last year's National Champion in their last game and are now an underdog are 0-8 ATS

That comes to 1-52-1 ATS for Georgia here!

I don't base my game decisions on trends such as this, but it is just part of the whole process, and lots of people are curious about them.

Georgia was outgained by LSU, yet won by 2 TD's, mainly because of 2 defensive scores. Then there is the huge issue of what happened in last year's game. When Georgia scored late, the entire team came out, and into the end-zone to celebrate the score that put Florida away. That didn't sit well with the team, or Coach Urban Meyer. You can be assured, this game has been circled since then, and it will not only be Florida's biggest game of the year by BCS implications, it will be their biggest revenge motivator of the season. Coach Meyer has been known to get points to cover games for alumni, and boosters, it is well documented! He will run this game up as far as he can, and will certainly not win, with no cover, that won't happen.

Florida is a turnover machine, as they come in at +10, and their special teams are tops in the country. Urban Meyer coached teams have now blocked 40 punts, yes 40, that is not a typo. This year's Gator squad has already blocked 4, do not be surprised if the spread is erased on special teams by Florida, and it is mano-o-mano offense vs defense for the win. I like the Gators to win this one by at least 2 TD's, and if Meyer decides to pile it on, maybe more.
