4 UNIT PLAY

Boise State/ San Jose State Under 42.5: The Under is 6-1 in Broncos last 7 conference games and20-7-1 in their last 28 vs. a team with a winning record, while the Under is 12-0 when San Jose is off a game that they allowed 14 points or less and 30-6 in their last 36 games after the 1st month of the season. Defense, defense, defense. That will be the name of the game when these two WAC schools square off on Friday night. Defense has not been the name of the game for the Spartan?s in recent years as they have allowed 29 ppg or more and at 408 ypg or more in 3 of their last 4 years, but this year it is a different story. The Apartans come in ranked 13th overall, 11th vs. the run and they allow just 16.6 ppg (11th). They also rank 18th ion yards per play allowed (4.4 ypp), including ranking 3rd in the nation in ypp at home (3.4) and ranking 3rd in total defense at home (196.7 ypg). Now thats playing some defense. Oh but wait, the team on the other sideline can play some ?D? as well. Boise checks in with the 32nd ranked defense overall, the 37th vs. the pass and 44th vs. the run, but they do allow just 10.5 ppg (2nd) and just 4.3 ypp (14th). This team has allowed just 1 team to score more than 7 points in a game this year and that was the 32 points they allowed to a very good Oregon offense. Now that?s some defense. The reason the Spartans are 5-2 on the year is not due to their offense, as they rank 99th overall and 85th in scoring at 21.6 ppg. The Spartans do average 27 ppg in WAC games this year, but due to their defense those games have averaged just 39.7 ppg. The Boise offense has been good this year ranking 27th overall and 31st in scoring at 31.5 ppg. If you throw out the Oregon game and the game vs. FCS opponent Idaho State, then their other 4 games have averaged 33.3 ppg, while their two WAC games have averaged just 37.5 ppg. Normally you think WAC you think high scoring games, but these two teams have gone against the norm and will continue to do so tonight as I see a game that puts no more than 35 points on the board.

Jimmy The Moose

Atlanta Thrashers at Detroit Red Wings
Prediction: Over

The over is 5-2 in the Thrashers last 7 games vs. a team with a winning record. The Thashers have played over the total in 5 of their last 7 vs. a Western Conference opponent. The Wings have played over the total in their last 3 games very easily. Over their last 5 games the Wings have averaged 3.60 GPG. The over is 8-3-1 in Detroit's last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The team's have played over the total in their last 4 meetings. Look for another high-scoring game tonight. Play the over.

Boise State Broncos at San Jose Spartans

Last week the Broncos beat Hawaii 27-17 while the Spartans beat New Mexico State 31-14. Even though the Spartans are unranked and have a couple of losses, first place in the WAC is up for grabs in this game as both teams are undefeated in the conference. The Broncos are led by QB Kellen Moore (1591 yds 13 TD 3 INT) and his main targets are WR’s Jeremy Childs (29 rec 342 yds 1 TD) and Vinny Perretta (17 rec 230 yds 1 TD). The Broncos rushing attack is led by Ian Johnson (363 yds 4 TD). The Spartans are led by QB Kyle Reed (1164 yds 7 TD 6 INT) and his main targets are WR’s David Richmond (39 rec 419 yds 2 TD) and Kevin Jurovich (15 rec 183 yds 1 TD). The Spartans rushing attack is led by Yonus Davis (457 yds 2 TD).

Staff Pick:While the Broncos rank higher than the Spartans in per game averages of total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, and points scored but the Spartans have the better D. On defense the Spartans rank 13th and the Broncos rank 32nd. However, the Broncos D is legit, as they rank 2nd in the FBS in scoring defense and they have given up more than a TD in only 1 game. The Spartans are 0-8 in this series and are 0-9 in their last 9 games against ranked teams. This is the last test for the Broncos, as their next few opponents will not be seen in any Bowl games this season. For the Spartans to have any chance in this game they have to stop Moore and the Spartans 15th ranked passing offense. While the Spartans are 5-2 they have not beat one team that has a winning record. Besides their D the Spartans are playing on Friday night, as games that have not been on Saturday have seen many unranked teams take down ranked teams. For the Broncos to have any chance at a BCS game they have to win this game and may have to win convincingly. Look for the Broncos to beat the Spartans handily and keep their perfect record in tact.

Jim Feist

LA Kings / STL Blues
Take Under

These defenses are decent, with both teams allowing roughly 3 goals per game. This is only the second road game for the Kings, and the offense was nonexistent in their first road game, a 3-1 loss at San Jose. This is a long road trip, as well. St. Louis has a ferocious power play, scoring at a ridiculous 40% clip, far and away the best in the league. They won't be able to keep up that kind of sizzling pace, especially against a Kings team that plays a conservative, careful offensive style, averaging 3 goals per game. The last two meetings, the Blues have scored just 4 goals against the Kings. Play the Kings/Blues under the total.

Re: Friday Service Plays

SPORTS ADVISORS

(13) Boise State (6-0, 3-2 ATS) at San Jose State (5-2, 5-1 ATS)

The Broncos hope to keep their BCS bowl hopes alive when they travel to Spartan Stadium to take on San Jose State in a battle of the only two Western Athletic Conference teams without a league loss.

Boise State, long known for its offensive firepower, has the second-ranked defense in Division I-A, allowing just 10.5 points per game, and the Broncos have given up more than seven points just once this season, in a 37-32 road win over then-No. 17 Oregon on Sept. 20. A week ago, Boise State’s defense stepped up yet again, allowing only 288 total yards (56 rushing) in a 27-7 home victory over Hawaii, but it came up just short as a 23-point favorite. The Broncos’ offense ranks third in the WAC, averaging 32.5 ppg, and QB Kellen Moore has completed 72.2 percent of his throws for 1,591 yards, 13 TDs and just three INTs.

San Jose State also fields a stout defense, and it showed in Saturday’s 31-14 road win over New Mexico State as a one-point road chalk, as the Spartans registered six sacks and forced four turnovers. San Jose State, which is on a 3-0 SU and ATS run, ranks second to Boise State in the WAC in scoring defense (16.6 ppg allowed). It also gives up just 272.6 total yards and 86.7 rushing yards per game, figures that are superior to the Broncos (310.7 total ypg, 123 rushing ypg allowed).

The Spartans are 3-0 at home this year (2-0 ATS), outscoring visitors by an average of 15 ppg (26-9) and outgaining them by nearly 200 total yards per outing (394-197). Meanwhile, Boise State is 2-0 SU and ATS on the highway, putting up 30.5 points and 387 total yards per contest and yielding 19.5 points and 371 total yards per game.

San Jose State is 0-8 all-time against Boise State, including 0-3 (2-1 ATS) under current coach Dick Tomey. The Broncos blew out the Spartans 42-7 last season on the Smurf Turf in Boise, cashing as 25½-point favorites. Prior to that, however, San Jose State had cashed in three straight meetings, including in 2006 at Spartan Stadium when the Spartans gave Boise State its biggest scare of the season, losing just 23-20 as a 13-point home underdog.

The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven series clashes, though the Broncos have finished with the yardage edge in all seven contests, including outgaining the Spartans by more than 200 yards five times.

The Broncos are on ATS streaks of 4-1 on the road, 5-2 in WAC games, 7-3 after a straight-up win, 8-3 in Friday kickoffs and 30-12-1 against teams with a winning record. Meanwhile, San Jose State is on pointspread runs of 21-8 overall, 20-7 at home, 14-3 in WAC contests, 10-1 after a straight-up win and 5-1 in October.

For Boise State, the under is on runs of 4-1 overall (3-0 last three), 4-1 on the road, 6-1 in league play, 5-1 on Fridays and 20-7-1 against teams with a winning record. It’s been all “unders” for the Spartans as well, including 21-5-1 overall (4-0 last four), 7-3-1 at home, 22-4-1 in conference action, 7-1-1 in October and 17-5 following a straight-up win. Finally, in this budding rivalry, the under has been the play in each of the last three meetings.

ATS ADVANTAGE: UNDER

Vegas Experts

Boise State at San Jose State

Considering that the Boise State offense averages 32.5 PPG, this number looks more than manageable in looking to play the Over. Going back to 2001, the Broncos have scored 42 points or more six times against SJSU. Defensive numbers are skewed for both sides due to playing inferior competition. The streak of Unders both teams are on has caused the oddsmakers to overadjust and we'll be there to take advantage of their mistake!

Play on: Over

Re: Friday Service Plays

LT Profits

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blues Jackets have been a collective thorn in the sides of the New York Rangers for several years now, and we look for the Blue Jackets to emerge victorious again tonight.

Granted, these teams have met just once each year since the advent of the New NHL, but the Jackets won both of those meetings and they are an even better team this season with serious playoff aspirations.

Columbus was a pesky team at home last year, and they are off to a nice 2-0 start in this building this season, outscoring their two home opponents by a combined score of 9-5. Sure, their goaltending has been a bit shaky, but Columbus has a young, exciting offense led by Rick Nash that can put the puck in the net, especially at home.

Now the Rangers got off to a 5-0 start, but they have lost three out of four games since then with the lone win coming in a shootout after what was a 0-0 game through regulation and overtime. While the Blue Jackets can score goals in bunches, the Rangers gave struggled, averaging just 2.40 goals per game overall and scoring a total of just seven goals during their current four-game funk.

Let us score one for the home team at plus odds here.

Pick: Blue Jackets +100

Ducks are 5-1 in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest. Ducks are 19-7 in their last 26 vs. Eastern Conference. Senators are 4-9 in their last 13 vs. Pacific. Senators are 1-4 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Senators are 2-9 in their last 11 overall. Senators are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Senators are 1-6 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. Re: Friday Service Plays

John Ryan

Los Angeles Kings @ St. Louis Blues
Pick: 2 units Los Angeles Kings +143

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Los Angeles Kings – Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 36-23 making 27.4 units over the past 5 seasons. Play against home favorites of -200 or less against the money line that is a good team outscoring their opponents by 0.3+ goals/game and after 2 straight games where both teams scored 3 goals or more. Here is a second dog playing system that has gone 237-241 and has made 68.1 units with the average play being a +130.1 dog. Play against home Favorites of -200 or less against the money line that are explosive offensive teams scoring 3+ goals/game on the season and after playing a game where 7 or more total goals were scored. These are fantastic systems to follow on your own as they consistently exploit false favorites. These plays are analogous to playing Black Jack for 478 hands and being paid +130 for every victorious 1.00 wagered. I think you would agree that we would play a hundred times that many hands if that was the case in reality. Yet, this systems is reality being that it has stood the test of time and now you can use it too. St. Louis is just 4-17 against the money line (-15.3 Units) after a home game where both teams score 3 or more goals over the last 3 seasons; 3-13 against the money line (-11.6 Units) after playing 2 straight games where 7 or more total goals were scored over the last 2 seasons. Take Los Angeles for 3* amount.

The Gold Medal Club

Boise State @ San Jose State
PLAY: SAN JOSE STATE +7

We will back the Spartans here knowing they come into this game with revenge for last years throttling loss at Boise to the tune of 42-7. Now at home, facing a ranked opponent, they dearly would love to beat, we know the effort will be there. San Jose own the better defense, 7-2 to the number off two consecutive wins during the last 3 years, and under the tutelage of coach Tomey, have improved significantly since last year.
We also note this is the first time that the Spartans have been single digit dogs to the Broncos,? Something in the cards tonight? we think so!

Re: Friday Service Plays

3Daily Winners

(12-1 run)

Boise State vs. San Jose State
Play: San Jose State

An undercurrent of talk is developing about Boise State making a return to the BCS rotation if they stay unbeaten and the other non-BCS teams continue to falter. This is a different Broncos team, not fully immersed in just scoring points. Boise State is still scoring enough to average 32.5 points a game, just not the more than 40 points an outing we are accustomed to seeing. The real strength of the 2008 version of the Broncos is a defense that keeps the opposition from scoring points. They are second in the country only to USC in points allowed at 10.5 per game. This is third straight season Boise State is in the Top 25 and unbeaten headed to San Jose. In 2004, the Broncos blocked a field goal at the end of regulation and went on to defeat the Spartans 56-49 in overtime as 32.5-point favorites. Two seasons ago they erased an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter with a touchdown and two-point conversion and kicked a game-winning field goal in the closing seconds to escape 23-20. Both years the Broncos finished undefeated. San Jose State is 5-2 and 5-1 against the spread this season, again playing with the toughness veteran coach Dick Tomey demands. The Spartans have been in every game except Nebraska and even then they out-gained the Huskers by 38 yards. Boise State allows fewer points than San Jose State, but the Spartans are number one in total defense in the WAC and are ranked 13th nationally at 272.6 yards per game allowed. San Jose State can match many of the things Boise State does well, like forcing 20 turnovers and sacking the quarterback 25 times. They are 5-0 ATS as home underdogs the last two years. The Spartans are 13-2 ATS after playing their last game on the road. Boise State wins, by only 3 or 4 points.
