3 Unit Play. #110 Take Green Bay -6 over Minnesota (Sunday 1:00 pm Fox) The NFC North Division appears to be going through Green Bay and the Packers look to sweep the Vikings yet again. Green Bay has won three straight games in this series and many of them have not been close. They will focus in on RB Peterson and make some other Vikings beat them. The Vikings defense is solid against the run but terrible against the pass and thus QB Favre should have a field day. Minnesota still does not have a quarterback and that does not bode well in the cold environment of Lambeau Field. If the Packers do not beat themselves by allowing the Vikings to score on defense, they will cruise to a double-digit victory. Green Bay 27, Minnesota 13.

3 Unit Play. #117 Take Cleveland +9 ½ over Pittsburgh (Sunday 1:00 pm CBS) The Cleveland Browns have been the surprise team in the AFC and look to tie Pittsburgh for the division lead in the AFC North. Cleveland can throw the football with QB Anderson. Cleveland has not had much success in this series, but they will have revenge on their mind from an embarrassing performance in week one of the season. Pittsburgh has played a weak schedule to account for their success and already has losses to Arizona and Denver. This game will be much closer then what the experts think and Pittsburgh playing on a short week will come up flat. Pittsburgh 27, Cleveland 24.

4 Unit Play. #128 Take New York Giants +1 ½ over Dallas (Sunday 4:15 pm CBS) The NFC East is up for grabs on Sunday when the New York Football Giants try and even up this series at one game apiece. The home team has dominated this series, winning 22 of the last 33 meetings ATS (one push). When these teams met earlier in the season, the Giants were banged up on defense, but they will be coming off a bye after their victory over Miami in London. The Giants have a strong pass defense that will be able to pressure QB Romo. The Cowboys have played a weak schedule to amass most of their victories in 2007 and their luck is about to run out on Sunday, as the Giants win this game by a botched field goal and move into first place in the East. New York 27, Dallas 24.

RIP ROARIN'
PLAY ON any NFL winless dog off three or more losses in a row if they
are playing with rest and allowed < 30 points in their last game.

ATS W-L Record Since 1980: 14-0

Play ON: Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Rams

Rationale: Rest does wonders for losing teams, especially those in
quest of their first win of the season. Once humiliation enters the
picture they really tend to end the skein.

Stephen Nover

NFL Side
Double-Dime bet ATL 4.5 (-110) vsCAR

Analysis: As bad as Atlanta and Joey Harrington are, they are a bargain getting more than a field goal against Carolina. The Panthers are 2-10-1 against the spread in their last 13 home games.

This isn't a strong Panthers squad to start with and they sure can't be laying these kind of points considering their quarterback situation. This is John Fox's choice: undrafted rookie Matt Moore, who isn't ready for the NFL yet. Or injured Vinny Testaverde.

Testaverde is 44 and bothered by an Achilles' heal injury that affects is already limited mobility. Neither choice is attractive. But that's what the Panthers are up against without injured Jake Delhomme and David Carr.

The Panthers have been terrible at home, losing five straight. They've been outscored, 149-51, at home during this time frame. Carolina is 1-8 against the spread in its past nine games on grass.

Atlanta could have won the first meeting between the two clubs if cornerback DeAngelo Hall didn't lose his cool against Steve Smith. Because of poor quarterback play, Smith has been held to 47 yards or fewer in five of his last six games.

The Falcons are expected to get back tight end Alge Crumpler, who is a huge part of their offense.

Greg Shaker

NFL Total
Triple-Dime bet BAL / 223 CIN Under 44.5

Analysis: NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens - Under 44.5 -110 | Unit Value: 3 DIME "Total of the Month)
Game Date: 11/12/2007
Note: I learned a couple of things on the Monday Nite Contest. The Steelers are going to be very tough to beat at their stadium this year and the Ravens have very serious QB Issues. They do have a game this week that they need to win badly and that usually means great D from what is the 3rd best in the league. That is even more impressive when you consider that they are forced to be on the field quite a bit due to the offensive woes that they have. While McNair will not get quite the same amount of pressure this week from the Bengals, he does not have the mobility that he used to have and reminds me of Joe Nameth and Ken Stabler in their final days of their career. He does not, nor has he ever, reminded me of those guys at his peak however. The Ravens have played their best D while at home this year, allowing just 13 per game to the opposition and all games played at this park have averaged just 35 points. It is not often that we see a total so high for a Baltimore game and the line has actually drifted upward from an opening of 43 earlier in the week. Billick is basically a conservative head coach and he does know what he has to work with. The Ravens can run the ball with some effectiveness and they will have a team in town that can be run on, as they rank near the bottom of the NFL in that department. Neither one of these squads are going anywhere this year to the best of my estimation but there will be some intensity on the field Sunday due to the fact that these division rivals both need a win. Last year's game here in Maryland saw a 20 point effort and a 13-7 Bengal win. That is the sort of game I am expecting again, although the home team will probably win this one. This is the largest total for a Raven Contest that I have seen in a very long time and certainly the highest this year by far. I will play this one with extreme confidence.
