Tuukka Rask would not talk about his future when asked after Saturday’s 3-2 loss in overtime. The 34-year-old is eligible to become a UFA after the playoffs and he was not giving any clues as to his future plans. “I haven’t really thought about that. I just try to go game by game series by series,” Rask said. “I’ll see what the future brings after that. Obviously, there’s going to be some decisions to be made, but we’ll do that when the time is right. Right now I’m not thinking about that.” Rask gave up three goals including the overtime winner, on 32 shots. Game 2 is Monday in Washington.
Washington Capitals DFS Spin
Ilya Samsonov is off the COVID protocol list and he is available to the team, according to coach Peter Laviolette. Samsonov was scratched for Washington’s playoff opener versus Boston on Saturday night. He was back on the ice Sunday, but Laviolette would not say if the Capitals netminder would be an option for Game 2 on Monday. Vitek Vanecek is day-to-day with a lower-body injury after he was hurt on Saturday. Craig Anderson won the game in relief and the team recalled Zach Fucale on Sunday.
