Tuukka Rask was going to see some AHL action, but Providence had their games for this weekend postponed. The AHL announced that matches against Lehigh Valley, which were originally scheduled for Jan. 7 and Jan. 9, will be played in April. Providence isn't slated to play until next Friday. Rask, who signed a professional tryout with Boston's minor-league affiliate on Thursday, could still practice with the team. Coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday night that he wasn't sure what the plan for Rask is right now, but he didn't believe the netminder would travel with the big club for the team's upcoming two-game road trip. There were reports that Rask could have an NHL contract as soon as next week.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 26-of-27 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames. Vasilevskiy was a complete monster, better known as his usual self, on Thursday night as he was virtually unbeatable all night. However, Dillon Dube caught him sleeping at the wheel in the third period as he took a fluttering shot that beat the goaltender on his glove-side. The goal was inconsequential to the result of the game however it served as a shutout-buster to Vasilevskiy's performance. The 27-year-old now owns a 19-5-3 record with a 2.16 goals-against average and .926 save percentage on the season.
