49ers vs. Lions Free Pick
Two teams that will watch the playoffs from home next month will meet today at Ford Field when the Lions host the 49ers at 1:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Lions are 10.5-point home favorites versus the 49ers while the over/under is currently sitting at 42 points. Detroit had opened as an 8-point favorite before the number jumped to 10.5.
The Lions are coming off a short week of rest and preparation after upsetting the Saints on Monday Night Football. The number for this game seems a tad inflated to Detroit's win in New Orleans and the fact that San Francisco hasn't covered a spread since upsetting Chicago in overtime as a 6-point underdog three weeks ago.
Detroit certainly has the capability of blowing out San Francisco today but the Lions are just too inconsistent to lay 10 points. After all, there's a reason why Jim Caldwell's team is 5-9 both straight up and against the spread.
Look for this game to be closer than most expect.
