Beckham suspended 1 game
It’s official. Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended one game by the NFL and the New York Giants will be without him next Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Beckham Jr. seemed to lose control of his emotions on Sunday when the Giants battled with the unbeaten Carolina Panthers. He and Carolina CB Josh Norman were trading shots all game, with Beckham launching his helmet into Norman on multiple occasions. OBJ had three 15-yard penalties in the 38-35 loss and many in the media called out for him to be suspended. Beckham can still appeal the suspension.
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Vikings are listed as a 5.5-point favorite now for Sunday night’s 8:30PM ET game with the Giants. The over/under total is currently listed at 44.5 points.
The Giants’ offense certainly takes a hit without Beckham, who has 91 receptions for 1,396 yards and 13 touchdowns this year. He finished yesterday’s game with 6 receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown, snapping a six-game streak where he had at least 100 receiving yards.
The Giants (6-8) are one game behind Washington in the NFC East and still playing for a division title while the Vikings (9-5) are a game behind the Packers for first in the NFC North and currently two games ahead of Atlanta for the final Wild Card spot in the conference.
