Jaguars vs. Ravens Week 15 Prediction

Jaguars vs. Ravens, 12/20/20 NFL Week 15 Betting Predictions

The Ravens need a win over the Jaguars on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive. Even though the total opened at 46 and has climbed to 48, is the under still the better play in this conference matchup?

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said Gardner Minshew will start in Week 15 against the Ravens. Marrone previously scapegoated Minshew (rather than evaluating his own flaws) during the team's Week 8 bye only to rattle off six consecutive losses with rookie Jake Luton and Mike Glennon under center. It's admittedly an awful spot for Minshew to return for against Baltimore's nightmarish defense, but he did at least conduct a scoring drive in his mop up work over the final 23 minutes of Sunday's loss to Tennessee. Note that Keelan Cole and D.J. Chark have tied for a team-high in target share (15.4%) from Minshew this season.

Lamar Jackson completed 11-of-17 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown and rushed nine times for 124 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' 47-42, Week 14 win over the Browns Monday night. Jackson hadn't been living up to his 2019 MVP ways for the vast majority of the season, but he turned things on under the bright Monday night lights. It marked his second 100-yard rushing game of the year and first multi-score ground effort with a pair of first-half rushing touchdowns, scoring from five yards out in the first quarter and 17 yards away in the second frame. His passing night could have been much better, too, if not for multiple drops by Marquise Brown. But Brown did make his biggest target count. Jackson missed two drives in the locker room with fourth-quarter cramps, only to return for a 4th-and-5 with 1:51 to play after Trace McSorley injured his knee on a third-down sack. Jackson hit a streaking Brown for a 440yard touchdown to put the Ravens up 42-35 following a two-point conversion. The Browns then tied it, but Jackson made several critical throws on the final possession to set up Justin Tucker's game-winning 55-yard field goal with two seconds left. Jackson looks to be heating up in time for Week 15 against the soft Jaguars.

Jaguars vs. Ravens Betting Prediction

The under is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams in Baltimore. The under is also 4-1 in the Jaguars’ last five games overall, is 4-1 in their last five games as an underdog and is 8-2 in their last 10 games played in December. On the other side, the under has cashed in eight of the Ravens’ last 11 conference games, is 5-2 in their last seven games coming off a win and is 7-3 in their last 10 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous contest.
