Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Spin
Todd Gurley had 23 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 34 yards in the Rams' Week 14 win over Seattle. The Rams got Gurley involved early, with the 27 touches his most since Week 11. He had a touchdown vultured by Malcolm Brown with the Rams going no-huddle after a Tyler Higbee catch set them up at the one-yard line. The Rams went away from Gurley for a second time on their next drive, running a play-action to Robert Woods from two-yards out. Gurley finally got his TD on a six-yard run where he stiff-armed Trey Flowers on his way to the end-zone. The Rams have made a point to get Gurley more involved down the stretch with 20-plus touches the last two weeks. They should continue to ride him for a Week 15 matchup with Dallas.
Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Spin
Ezekiel Elliott rushed 19 times for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Cowboys' Week 14 loss to the Bears. Even with no other running backs active, Elliott drew only five targets in the passing game, catching two of them for 12 yards. He capped the Cowboys' opening drive with a two-yard score before tacking on another two-yarder with the 'Boys down 24-7 early in the fourth quarter. That touchdown came on fourth down following failed second- and third-down runs. Along the way, Elliott had a 31-yard rumble, embarrassingly his longest of the year. Zeke has been fed, but he hasn't been eating quite the way he should, failing to reach 100 yards rushing in any of his past four games. The Rams are on tap for Week 15 in Dallas.
NFL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Rams are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
Dallas
The Cowboys are 7-2 against the number in their last nine games as an underdog but they have failed to cover in seven of their last eight games when facing an opponent with a winning record.
Prediction
The way to beat the Rams is to get after Jared Goff and due to L.A.’s offensive line issues this season, opponents have been able to provide consistent pressure. That said, the Rams’ O-line has played better over the course of the last few weeks and I’m not sure Dallas can generate enough pressure anyway. They allowed Mitchell Trubisky to play like Steve Young last week and this Cowboys team as a whole doesn’t look very confident. After hanging with an overrated Patriots team, the Cowboys were trounced by the Bills and were handled by the Bears. I don’t see how they upend a Rams team that is starting to play like the team that went to the Super Bowl a year ago.
