The Seahawks are laying a massive amount of points tonight against the Rams but are they still worth backing at the betting window?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks are now 16-point home favorites to beat the Rams after opening as a 13-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 40.5 and has been bet down to 39.

That said, they're 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games in Seattle and are winless at the betting window in their last four games overall. They're also 1-5-1 against the number in their last seven games coming off a loss of any deficit.

SEAHAWKS KEY TRENDS: The Seahawks have been a gold mine on Thursday, covering the spread in all six of their last six games played on this day. They're also 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, are 18-7-1 against the number in their last 26 games in December and are 9-4-1 at the betting window in their last 14 games versus divisional opponents. They're also 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games versus a team with a losing road record.

OUR PREDICTION: It's been a whirlwind for the Rams this week. First they were pummeled 42-14 by the Falcons last Sunday at home and then they fired Jeff Fisher on Monday. They promoted special teams coordinator John "Bones" Fassel, who admitted after practice on Tuesday that he's learning on the fly as he attempts to get the Rams ready to play on a short week. Meanwhile, the Seahawks were embarrassed last Sunday in Green Bay, with Russell Wilson throwing five interceptions in an ugly loss. They're already pissed off because of that and they've been beaten three straight times by the Rams dating back to Week 1 of last year. I don't care that the line is an unusually-high 16 points for an NFL game. Seahawks should win by three touchdowns.
