Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Spin

Carson Wentz completed 33-of-50 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 23-17, Week 14 overtime win over the Giants Monday night. This game featured the worst first quarter of pro football we've seen all season. Neither team could move the ball, and Wentz was overall pretty terrible the entire first half. He went to the break with 97 passing yards and a lost fumble and the Eagles getting booed off the field down 17-3. Philly dominated the second half, however, but it was still not a good look to be pushed to the brink and into overtime on your home field by the 2-10 Giants. Both of Wentz's scores were two-yard hookups with Zach Ertz. By the time the game ended, the Eagles had literally one healthy receiver, Greg Ward. Wentz has been brutal in 2019, but the 6-7 Eagles now control their own destiny with the Redskins, Cowboys, and Giants in Weeks 15-17.

Washington Redskins Fantasy Spin

Dwayne Haskins completed 16-of-27 passes for 170 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Week 14 against the Packers. Haskins continued his rookie struggles, completing 59 percent of his passes and averaging just 6.3 YPA. He was noticeably limping throughout the game with an ankle injury but didn't miss any snaps. Haskins had an ugly interception at the end of the first half and a number of miscues, throwing one of his passes so far behind his receiver it hit a Packers corner in the helmet. He had only 95 yards going into the final two minutes of the game before a garbage-time TD to Terry McLaurin. Haskins may miss some practice time this week with his ankle issue but should be fine for a matchup with the Eagles Week 15.

NFL Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The over is 16-7 in the Eagles’ last 23 games played in the month of December and is 35-17 in their last 52 games coming off a loss.

Washington

The under is 8-3 in the Redskins’ last 11 games played in December and is 11-4 in their last 15 games when facing an opponent with a losing record.

Prediction

Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been held to fewer than 215 passing yards in every game he’s started this season. In fact, he was held to under 175 passing yards in each of his last three games as Washington’s offense has mostly struggled. The Redskins won’t be able to establish much of a running game versus the Eagles’ stout front seven and thus, I don’t see Washington contributing enough offense to push the score over the total. The same applies to the Eagles, who needed overtime just to score 23 points against a bad Giants defense at home on Monday night. Neither offense inspires much logical reason to take the over this weekend in Landover.
