Chicago Bears Fantasy Spin
Mitchell Trubisky completed 23-of-31 passes for 244 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Bears' 31-24, Week 14 win over the Cowboys, adding nine runs for 64 additional yards and a touchdown. Coming off a huge day vs. the Lions' pathetic defense, Trubisky had a big night against a much-better unit, though the Cowboys seemingly forgot how to tackle. Trubisky was also lucky to escape with only one interception, as his second and third touchdown drives could have been derailed by awful passes thrown in the vicinity of Cowboys defenders. Nevertheless, Trubisky was making tight-window throws all evening, and running like he did early in 2018. The rushing yards were the second most of his career. Even though he was far from perfect, Trubisky has at least resumed mixing the good with the bad. His legs will be a stretch-run wild card. It's still difficult to recommend Trubisky as a QB2 for next week's Green Bay road trip.
Green Bay Packers Fantasy Spin
Aaron Rodgers completed 18-of-28 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' Week 14 win over Washington. Rodgers didn't play great in this one, also losing a fumble and taking four sacks. He led the Packers to scoring drives on two of their first three possessions before stalling out after that. Rodgers's only touchdown was a red-zone throw to a wide open Robert Tonyan. It's a letdown game given the matchup, but the Packers improved to 10-3 with the win. Rodgers gets a matchup with Chicago in Week 15.
NFL Betting Trends
Chicago
The under is 13-5 in the Bears’ last 18 games overall and has cashed in 11 of their last 15 conference tilts as well.
Green Bay
The under has cashed in four of the Packers’ last five games overall and is 7-3 in their last 10 games when they face an opponent that owns a winning record.
Prediction
Aaron Rodgers hasn’t exactly been lighting up the scoreboard in recent weeks. He was held to only 195 yards passing last week against a bad Washington team and was held under 250 passing yards by a struggling Giants defense the week before. In fact, you’d have to go all the way back to late October to find the last time Rodgers threw for over 300 yards, which came in a 306-yard performance against the Chiefs when he also threw three touchdown passes. The under is 8-1 in the Bears’ last nine games as a road underdog, is 9-2 in their last 11 games played in the month of December and is a perfect 6-0 in the Packers’ last six divisional matchups. With Rodgers struggling, I like the under despite the number leaving us with little margin for error.
