Cardinals vs. Titans Prediction
Will the Arizona Cardinals pull off the small upset as a home underdog on Sunday when they host the Tennessee Titans at 4:05 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Tennessee. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Titans are 2.5-point road favorites versus the Cardinals, who opened as a 3-point home underdog earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 44.5 but was bet down to the current number of 42.
Who the Public Likes: With a few hours left before kickoff, 62% of betting tickets are on the Cardinals and 83% of the money is also on Arizona to cover the spread as a home underdog.
Who the Trends Like: The Titans are just 19-42-4 against the spread in their last 65 games overall and are 7-19 at the betting window in their last 26 road games. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are 6-14-1 at the betting window in their last 21 home games and 3-8-1 against the spread in their last 12 games overall.
Who We Like: Arizona. Tennessee is just 2-3 straight up and 1-4 against the spread in its last five away games. The Titans have also been outscored by 65 points in their last five road games while Marcus Mariota has posted a three-to-nine touchdown-to-interception away from Nashville this year.
Speaking of Mariota, his passer rating in his last four road games is 52.5, 78.4, 66.8 and 69.4. DeMarco Murray, meanwhile, has not rushed for more than 66 yards in any of his last nine games and won't find much running room today against an Arizona defense that ranks in the top-10 in terms of run defense. The Cardinals are holding opponents to fewer than 100 yards on the ground per game.
The Cardinals also haven't given up on Bruce Arians despite a bad season. They proved that two weeks ago when they beat the Jaguars outright as a 6-point home underdog. The Titans have been fraudulent all season and I'm not buying them as a road favorite, I don't care who the opponent is.
