Denver Broncos Fantasy Spin
Courtland Sutton caught 4-of-5 targets for 74 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos' Week 13 win over the Chargers. Both of Sutton’s touchdowns came in the first half and on stud Chargers CB Casey Hayward. The first was an absolutely b-e-a-utiful one-handed snag in contested coverage, while the other was more thanks to Drew Lock extending the play and throwing a strike on the run. Sutton then essentially won the game by drawing a long pass interference penalty to set up the Broncos for their game-winning field goal. Anyone involved in the Broncos’ offense has a pretty low floor with Drew Lock likely to go through plenty of ups and downs, but continue to treat Sutton as a low-end WR2 with WR1 upside regardless of the matchup.
Houston Texans Fantasy Spin
Deshaun Watson completed 18-of-25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans' Week 13 win over the Patriots. He added a six-yard receiving TD on a pass from DeAndre Hopkins. Watson spread it around in this one, with none of his receivers going over 70 yards. His touchdowns came on checkdowns to Duke Johnson and Darren Fells and a deep shot to Kenny Stills from 35 yards out. It's a huge game from Watson that puts the Texans in the driver seat in the AFC South. Watson has another tough matchup against the Broncos in Week 14, but he'll remain one of the top quarterback plays for the first round of the fantasy playoffs
NFL Betting Trends
Denver
The Broncos are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games as an underdog.
Houston
The Texans have failed to cover in five of their last seven home games and are just 15- against the spread in their last six games as a home favorite.
Prediction
The Broncos are 4-8 but they’re coming off an upset win over the Chargers in Drew Lock’s NFL debut and should have beaten the Vikings as a 10-point dog three weeks ago in Minnesota. They did lay an egg in Buffalo two Sundays ago but have largely been competitive and their defense has been excellent outside of a Thursday night home matchup versus the Chiefs back in mid-October. The Texans are in a prime letdown spot coming off their win over the Patriots and also have a key AFC South matchup on deck with the Titans as well (making today’s game a look-ahead spot as well). While backing Lock in his first road test is risky, the kid is not without talent, more so, in fact, than Brandon Allen, who was under center when the Broncos nearly pulled off the upset in Minnesota.
