Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Chiefs are 6.5-point favorites to beat the Ravens. The total, meanwhile, sits at 51 points. As of this writing, 70% of the public betting tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the point spread.
ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley expects Lamar Jackson to start Week 14 against the Chiefs. Jackson was checked for a concussion in last week's win over the Falcons but passed the tests and has no ill effects. Joe Flacco (hip) is "doing more" at Wednesday's practice but isn't a full participant. The Ravens are 3-0 since Jackson took over under center. The Chiefs will be a tough test.
Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs signed WR Kelvin Benjamin. It's a one-year contract, so Benjamin will be a free agent in March, but this is one of the best landing spots for Benjamin, who was waived by the Bills two days ago. Benjamin could see significant snaps in the playoffs as the Chiefs No. 3 receiver behind Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, if Benjamin is able to pick up the offense quickly. Benjamin's signing is bad news for Chris Conley, but Benjamin is only worth a pickup in deep leagues as a bench stash.
NFL Betting Trends
The over is 7-2 in the Ravens’ last nine road games versus a team with a winning home record.
The over is 4-0 in the Chiefs’ last four games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
The under is 4-1 in the Ravens’ last five road games, is 5-2 in their last seven conference games and 7-3 in their last 10 games overall. With Jackson under center they’ve had to stick with the run and in that time, their defense has been excellent. While it’s dangerous to play the under in Kansas City games, the under is also 48-20-1 in the Chiefs’ last 69 home games.
