Detroit Lions Fantasy Spin
Kerryon Johnson (knee, I.R.) returned to practice Wednesday. Johnson isn't eligible to return to game action until Week 16, but this opens his three-week window for activation from injured reserve. Even if he does return, Johnson will be hard to trust for a Week 16 road date against the Broncos in what would be his first game in two months. Johnson isn't worth picking up in season-long leagues unless you play through Week 17. And even then, it's no slam dunk that he gets cleared to return.
Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Spin
Speaking Thursday, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Dalvin Cook (chest) will play against the Lions and "be close to 100 percent." Cook has said all week that his health won't be an issue for Week 14, and now his coach agrees. In a mini slump, Cook has a potential eruption spot in a Lions defense surrendering the third most running back fantasy points. The concern is that the Vikes build a big early lead and then give Cook a breather after his Week 13 scare. Regardless, Cook is a clear top-five play even with the injury question mark.
