New England Patriots Fantasy Spin
Julian Edelman (shoulder) is questionable for Week 13. The Patriots list Edelman as questionable every week. He then plays every week. Don't expect this to change in a potential smash spot against the Texans. Edelman is the PPR WR6 on the season and locked in as a WR1 regardless of the matchup.
Houston Texans Fantasy Spin
Will Fuller caught 7-of-11 targets for 140 yards in the Texans' Week 12 win over the Colts. Playing for the first time since Week 7, Fuller exposed the back end of the Colts' defense for receptions of 44 and 51 yards. He seemed to be favoring his balky hamstring after the 51-yarder but did not miss a play. The 140 yards were the second most of his career. The oft-injured speed demon is now averaging 74 yards across eight games, though he's done the majority of his damage in two contests. Fuller's bust potential will be higher than usual when the Texans host the Patriots' league-best defense for Week 13.
NFL Betting Trends
New England
The Patriots are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games and are 47-21 against the number in their last 68 games overall.
Houston
The Texans have failed to cover in four of their last five games overall and are just 1-5 at the betting window in their last six home games.
Prediction
Despite their issues offensively, I’m not going to pass on an opportunity to only lay a field goal with New England. Their offensive line actually played one of their better games a week ago in the 13-9 win over the Cowboys and while Tom Brady still looks off, it’s only a matter of time before he and the offense starts to fire on all cylinders. Meanwhile, the Texans are a good team but outside of Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins, there’s not much that is truly great about Houston. They barely knocked off a depleted Colts team last week at home and in a matchup between the Bills, give me Belichick over O’Brien any day of the week.
