Oakland Raiders Fantasy Spin
Josh Jacobs (shoulder) wasn't listed on the Raiders' final injury report. Jacobs is sort of like Derrick Henry and Marlon Mack (when healthy) in that his offense makes sure to almost always feed him a minimum of 15-20 touches per game even if the snaps aren't as high as we'd hope for. Continue to treat the overall PPR RB9 as a weekly RB1, even in Week 12's matchup against a Jets Defense that has been much better against the run (No. 2 in DVOA) than the pass (No. 21) this season. Jacobs' pass-game usage isn't ideal, but otherwise his mix of workload and talent is only matched by the position's most-elite RBs across the entire league.
New York Jets Fantasy Spin
Le'Veon Bell rushed 18 times for 59 yards and one touchdown in the Jets' Week 11 win over the Redskins, adding two receptions for 33 yards as a receiver. This is a pretty standard stat line for Bell (3.3 YPC on 18 carries), but this time he found the end zone with the Redskins handing the Jets great field position. Bell simply isn't getting things going on the ground, which partially falls on him but can mostly be blamed on an offensive line that couldn't even open lanes against the Redskins. Luckily for Bell, the Raiders are coming to New York next week, so Bell will have a chance at a score in addition to his 15-20 weekly touches. Bell will be an RB2 for Week 12.
NFL Betting Trends
Oakland
The Raiders are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall but are just 3-8 against the number in their last 11 road games.
New York
The Jets are just 6-13-1 at the betting window in their last 20 games overall and are 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10 home games.
Prediction
The Raiders are traveling cross country and playing an early game after struggling to move the ball versus a hapless Bengals team a week ago. I think this game has some “trap” appeal and I’m taking the Jets. New York’s secondary isn’t very good but its front seven is somewhat underrated and I like the Jets to limit what Jacobs does on the ground. If I’m right, then I see the Jets having an opportunity to win a close game late in the fourth quarter. Either way, I’ll stuff the field goal in my back pocket just in case.
