49ers vs. Dolphins Pick
Will the red-hot Dolphins and their defense dominant Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers in a low-scoring game Sunday at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dolphins are a 7.5-point home favorite over the 49ers while the over/under currently sits at 44.5 points. The spread for this game hasn't moved off that 7.5 number but the total has gone from 46.5 down to 44.5 throughout the week.
The 49ers fell to 1-9 with a 30-17 loss to the Patriots last Sunday as a 10.5-point home underdog. They were in the game at halftime but Tom Brady and New England offense got rolling in the second half and eventually pulled away. The failed cover was also the eighth of the 49ers' season, as they're now just 2-8 at the betting window in 2016. They're 1-3 ATS on the road this year.
The Dolphins are heading in the complete opposite direction as the 49ers, winners of five in a row and coming off a 14-10 victory over the Rams in Los Angeles. The victory gave Miami six on the season and now the 6-4 Dolphins are right in the mix of a wild card berth in the AFC. They've also been great against the spread, covering in five straight games entering play on Sunday. They're 3-2 at the betting window at home this season.
OUR PREDICTION: Look for the Dolphins to keep the ball on the ground and play somewhat conservatively against a 49ers team that is devoid of talent on both sides of the ball. There's no need for Adam Gase to put this game on Ryan Tannehill, even if the signal-caller is having an excellent season. Thus, I expect the game to be low-scoring throughout. The under is 8-2 in the 49ers' last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home and is 12-3 in their last 15 games in November. The under is also 12-3-1 in the Dolphins' last 16 games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game.
NFL WEEK 12 PREDICTION: 49ERS/DOLPHINS UNDER 44.5
