Giants vs. Bucs Spread Prediction
In a matchup between two teams that will likely be selecting in the top-10 of next April’s NFL draft, the New York Giants will host the Tampa Bay Bucs at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. Will the Giants cover the spread as a small home favorite?
Game Snapshot
465 Tampa Bay Bucs at 466 New York Giants
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 18
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Giants are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Bucs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 53 points. As of this writing, 58% of the public betting tickets are on the Giants to cover the point spread.
Tampa Bay Bucs
Chris Godwin (ankle) is questionable for Week 11 against the Giants. Godwin was a full participant at Friday's practice after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. Despite the questionable listing, he should be fine for Sunday's game in East Rutherford. Adam Humphries would have been an interesting DFS flyer had Godwin sat out, but it looks like that ship has sailed.
New York Giants
Saquon Barkley rushed 20 times for 67 yards and caught 4-of-5 targets for 33 yards in the Giants' Week 10 win over the 49ers. It's Barkley's eighth 100-yard game in nine contests as a pro. There wasn't much running room to be found, and Barkley's biggest play was a 23-yard catch across the middle on a third down on the final game-winning drive with the Giants still down 23-20. Bigger days are ahead obviously, and the Giants will head home on a short week to face the Bucs' bottom-barrel defense in Week 11.
NFL Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Bucs are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
New York
The Giants are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games versus a team with a losing road record.
Prediction
The Bucs turned the ball over four times last week in their loss at home to the Redskins and were held to a single field goal despite gaining over 500 yards of total offense. They’re 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall, are 0-4 ATS in their last four conference games and are 4-9-1 at the betting window in their last 14 road games. The Giants showed some grit coming from behind to beat the 49ers on Monday night in Santa Clara and I like them in this spot laying less than a field goal because they’re still the better team.
NFL Week 11 Prediction: New York Giants -2.5
