New England Patriots Game Notes

Sony Michel (quad) returned to practice Thursday. Michel was designated to return from injured reserve, which unlocks the 21-day window the organization has to activate him on gameday. He would still need to be activated from injured reserve in order to play on Monday night. It's something to monitor ahead of kick-off since Michel's potential availability would ruin Damien Harris' outlook as the latter is essentially being used in the same role.

New York Jets Game Notes

Jamison Crowder (groin) is expected to be active for Week 9 against the Patriots. As is Breshad Perriman (concussion). Officially, Crowder is questionable. With Denzel Mims back and playing well, it means the Jets will finally have their full receiver corps healthy at one time. The problem is, Sam Darnold (shoulder) will be sidelined and it will be Joe Flacco under center against the Patriots on Monday evening. Even with Flacco, Crowder should soak up enough targets to provide WR3 value.

The Patriots are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games versus the Jets, while the home team is 7-3-1 against the number in the last 11 meetings between these two AFC East rivals. The Patriots are also just 4-9-1 against the number in their last 14 games overall, are 3-7-1 against the number in their last 11 games when favored and are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games coming off an ATS win. This New England team shouldn’t be favored on the road by nearly double-digits against anyone, even the Joe Flacco-led Jets.
