Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Chiefs are heavily favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -8 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the game is currently listed at 51 points. The public betting for this game currently has 85 percent going on the Chiefs on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NFL Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off another good win, defeating the Broncos 30-23 to move to 7-1 on the season. The Chiefs are 7-1 against the spread as well and 4-3-1 with the over. However, they are 3-1-1 with the under in their last five.
Kansas City has an offense that can’t be contained. The Chiefs are averaging 36.3 points and 430.6 yards per game, including 315 passing yards per contest. Patrick Mahomes is a leading MVP candidate right now, as he has thrown for 2,526 yards and 26 touchdowns with just six interceptions. Tyreek Hill is his leading receiver with 44 catches for 705 yards and seven touchdowns while Kareem Hunt has rushed for 592 yards and five scores. He also has 262 receiving yards with five touchdowns. Defensively, KC has not been good. The Chiefs are giving up 25.6 points and 451.5 yards per contest. They are allowing 324 passing yards per contest.
Browns fire Hue
The Browns are coming off a 33-18 loss at Pittsburgh last weekend and then elected to part ways with head coach Hue Jackson and OC Todd Haley this week. DC Gregg Williams is now the interim coach. Cleveland is 2-5-1 on the season, 5-3 against the spread and 4-4 with the over/under total.
Cleveland has been a mess on defense, which makes it interesting that Williams is now the coach. The Browns are giving up 26.3 points and 428.8 yards per game this season, including nearly 290 passing yards per game. Offensively, the Browns are putting up 21.1 points and 369 yards per contest. Rookie Baker Mayfield has thrown for 1,471 yards and eight touchdowns, but also has six interceptions and has been sacked 20 times. Rookie Nick Chubb has emerged as the feature back. He has run for 318 yards and three touchdowns. Jarvis Landry is the leading receiver with 49 catches for 528 yards and two scores.
NFL Betting Trends
The Chiefs are 5-1 with the over in their last six road games, but 3-0-1 with the under in their last four games on grass.
The Browns are 13-4 with the under in their last 17 home games and 13-5 with the under in their last 18 games against winning teams.
The Chiefs are sure to put up big points in this game against a very poor Cleveland secondary. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them scored 28-35 in the first half. From there, the Browns can find some offense while trying to play catch up against a KC defense that also gives up a lot of passing yards. I would expect the Browns to have a few tricks up their sleeves this week as well after a coaching shake-up. I like the over to hit in this one despite the Chiefs trending with the under as of late.
NFL Prediction: Chiefs/Browns Over 51
