Cardinals vs. 49ers Spread Prediction

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers, 10/28/18 Predictions & Odds

The only victory the Arizona Cardinals have this year was against the San Francisco 49ers. Will they pick up their second win of the year when they host that same Niners team at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday?

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the 49ers are 1-point favorites to beat the Cardinals. The total, meanwhile, sits at 42.5 points. As of this writing, 52% of the public betting tickets are on the 49ers to cover the point spread.

San Francisco 49ers

C.J. Beathard completed 15-of-27 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Rams. Beathard had a rough first half, turning the ball over twice including a lost fumble and failing to complete a pass to a receiver. He did find George Kittle for several big plays, however, including a 10-yard touchdown with just 10 seconds left to at least give the 49ers a chance. Unfortunately for San Francisco, he could not build on that drive in the second half, and he tossed another interception on a pass thrown slightly behind Kittle in the third quarter. Beathard has to take some blame for the showing, but he was constantly under pressure and ended up taking seven sacks. The road will not get any easier in Arizona against an underrated defense next week.

Arizona Cardinals

Mike Jurecki of the Cardinals' official website says there's "zero chance" the team trades CB Patrick Peterson. Peterson seems resigned to the fact after initially requesting a trade. He released a statement on Wednesday, saying, "I've been incredibly frustrated with how the season has gone. But my energy is 100% focused on being part of the solution & helping us turn this around. ... I have always given my all to the Cardinals organization, my teammates & fans. That is what I intend to do for the years to come." It sounds like we can squash all of those Peterson trade rumors.

NFL Betting Trends

San Francisco

The 49ers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five conference games an 1-4 against the number in their last five divisional games.

Arizona

The Cardinals are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a failed cover in their previous contest.

Prediction

The Cardinals picked up their lone win on the season against the 49ers a few weeks ago in san Francisco but the Niners gifted them many opportunities in that game by turning the ball over repeatedly. If they merely protect the football on Sunday then they should exact revenge on a Cardinals team that was pathetic last Thursday night at home in their loss to the Broncos. Arizona’s offensive line can’t protect rookie Josh Rosen, who is uber talented but he’s already going through a change in offensive coordinators. I love the Niners this week.
