This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NFL Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Bears stumble against Dolphins

The Chicago Bears were on a roll, but suffered a 31-28 OT loss at Miami last week to end a 3-game winning streak. Chicago is now 3-2 on the season, 3-2 against the spread and 3-2 with the over. The Bears have covered the spread in both home games.

The Bears have been led by their defense this year, allowing just 19.2 points and 365.6 yards per game. Despite the poor showing last week, Chicago has been able to create a lot of havoc. The unit has 18 sacks with 14 turnovers created. On offense, Chicago is putting up 27.8 points and 382.2 yards per game. Mitchell Trubisky has been strong in his recent games and has thrown for 1,261 yards and 11 touchdowns with four interceptions. Jordan Howard is the leading rusher with just 272 yards and a touchdown.

Patriots back to themselves

The New England Patriots have gotten back to playing like themselves, winning their last three games that includes a 43-40 win over the Chiefs last weekend. New England is 4-2 on the season, 3-3 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total. They did fail to cover against the Chiefs, but have covered in two of their last three.

The Pats have found their offensive stride in recent games and are now averaging 29.3 points and 389.5 yards per game. Tom Brady has thrown for 1,599 yards and 13 touchdowns with six interceptions. New England seems to have found their feature back of the future, as rookie Sony Michel has rushed for 400 yards and four touchdowns. Today, they will likely be without a big piece of the offense, as Rob Gronkowski didn’t make the trip to Chicago on Saturday. He hasn’t been entirely ruled out, but it’s hard to imagine him playing. Defensively, the Patriots are giving up 24.7 points and 388.3 yards per game. Their pass defense is allowing nearly 280 yards per contest. The unit has been able to create 12 turnovers.

NFL Betting Trends

Chicago

The Bears are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss.

New England

The Patriots are 10-2 against the spread in their last 12 games on grass and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 road games.

Prediction:

The Patriots have been rolling, but the loss of Gronkowski should really impact the offense. Though his stats aren’t eye-popping this year, they will miss the defensive attention he draws and the blocking he provides in the run game. Brady also trusts him as much as anyone on the offense. Chicago should be motivated following the bad loss last week and their pass rush should create problems for a largely immobile Tom Brady. I think the Bears can pull off this upset today.

NFL Prediction: Chicago Bears +2
