Chiefs vs. Broncos TNF Total Prediction
AFC West rivals square off in Denver on Thursday Night Football this week when the Broncos host the Chiefs at 8:20 p.m. ET. With the number set at 48.5, what’s the best play for bettors when it comes to the total?
Game Snapshot
303 Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at 304 Denver Broncos (+3); O/U 48.5
8:20 p.m. ET, Thursday, October 17, 2019
Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO
According to our NFL Public Betting Chart page, the Browns are drawing 60% of the betting tickets ahead of tonight’s game. The line has jumped from 3 to 6.5 due to Darnold’s injury situation.
Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Spin
Sammy Watkins (hamstring) remained "limited" on Tuesday. It puts Watkins on track to return for Thursday's game against the Broncos after missing Week 6. A fantasy disappointment during Tyreek Hill's four-game absence, Watkins has been rendered a boom-or-bust WR2/3 following Hill's return.
Denver Broncos Fantasy Spin
Emmanuel Sanders (knee) was upgraded to "full" in Tuesday's practice. In other words, he will be out there against the Chiefs. Even in a plus matchup, Sanders will be a low-end WR3. Courtland Sutton has taken control of the Broncos' receiver corps, currently checking in as ninth in the league in receiving (477).
Kansas City
The over is 5-1-1 in the Chiefs’ last seven games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Denver
The under is 6-1-1 in the Broncos’ last eight games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
Prediction
The Chiefs’ offense hasn’t been firing on all cylinders the past three weeks. They scored over 30 points in Detroit three weeks ago, but that included a defensive touchdown. Otherwise, opponents have done a good job of pressuring Patrick Mahomes because a) the Chiefs’ offensive line has struggled and b) the team has no consistent running game. Meanwhile, the Broncos have played well defensively but points have been at a premium for Joe Flacco and Co. The under is 9-1 in the Broncos’ last 10 home games, is 7-0-1 in their last eight divisional games and is 10-1-1 in their last 12 games coming off a win.
