Bills blanked on the road
Just a week after a big win over Minnesota, the Bills returned to form last week in Green Bay in a 22-0 loss. The Bills are now 1-3 on the season, 1-3 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
Buffalo has been a mess on offense this year, averaging just 12.5 points and 260.8 yards per game. Their rushing offense is putting up only 88.3 yards per contest. Rookie QB Josh Allen is actually the leading rusher with 116 yards as LeSean McCoy has just 85 yards this year and has been battling injuries. He is dealing with a hand injury currently, but is expected to play. Allen has thrown for 666 yards and two touchdowns, but has four interceptions and has been sacked 18 times. Defensively, the Bills are allowing 26.5 points and 372.8 yards per game.
Titans on a win streak
The Titans are riding a three-game win streak right now, all by three points, thanks to a 26-23 OT win over the Eagles last week. Tennessee is now 3-1 on the season, 3-1 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total. This current win streak has seen the Titans cover in all three games, snapping a 6-game failed cover streak that included all four preseason games.
Tennessee has managed to win games despite an offense averaging just 18.8 points and 324.8 yards per game. Marcus Mariota has been dealing with a nerve injury in his elbow and hand, but has led the Titans to the past two wins. He has thrown for 547 yard and two touchdowns this year, but also has three interceptions. The run game has been average, as Derrick Henry is leading the team with 163 yards on 54 carries. Corey Davis is having an improved sophomore season, catching 22 passes for 312 yards. Defensively, the Titans are allowing just 18.3 points per game despite giving up 378.8 yards per contest. Their run defense is allowing nearly 120 yards per game.
NFL Betting Trends
Buffalo
Buffalo has covered the spread in four of their last five games after a loss and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
Tennessee
The Titans are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games against a team with a losing record at home. They are also just 10-22 ATS in their last 32 road games overall.
Prediction:
The Titans are winning, but they aren’t doing it pretty. All three have been just by three points, and that grinder philosophy has been with the team for years. Buffalo certainly hasn’t looked good, but the Titans tend to play to their competition level. Buffalo is still respectable at the line of scrimmage, especially on defense. The Bills have a defense that have applied a good pass rush and I think that will give Tennessee some problems. I look for another close game today, allowing the Bills to cover.
NFL Prediction: Buffalo Bills +5.5
