Washington Redskins Fantasy Spin
Redskins beat writer JP Finlay reports that Terry McLaurin (hamstring) should play Sunday. Finlay added that, "Hamstring injury described as minor pull and holding him out of practice was precautionary." Still, McLaurin is a candidate for reduced snaps after suffering the injury in practice this week. Paul Richardson and Trey Quinn could certainly lead this offense's WRs in targets even if McLaurin is active. Chris Thompson is always a threat out of the backfield as well.
New York Giants Fantasy Spin
Saquon Barkley (ankle) is out for Week 4 against the Redskins. The Giants will also be without linebackers Tae Davis (concussion) and Alec Ogletree (hamstring). Barkley is looking at a 4-8 week recovery after going down with a high-ankle sprain in last week's win over Tampa Bay. Wayne Gallman will lead the backfield throughout his absence.
NFL Betting Trends
Washington
The Redskins are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven conference games and have dropped fie of their last six games against the number when playing divisional rivals.
New York
The Giants are 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine home games and are 2-5 against the number in their last seven divisional games.
Prediction
There isn’t much value when it comes to the number but nevertheless, I am a little intrigued by Washington. The Redskins are coming off an ugly performance on Monday night in a loss to the Bears in which Case Keenum turned the ball over 576 times in the first half. Assuming Keenum plays more like he did in the first two weeks and less like he did Monday night, there’s no reason to think Washington couldn’t pull off a small upset today. For all the Daniel Jones love, New York has a bad defense and will be without Barkley. I wish we were catching a bigger number but I suspect oddsmakers know that if the spread were higher, sharps would hit Washington hard knowing the public is in love with Jones.
