Colts vs. Jaguars Pick

The NFL holds its first game in London of the 2016 season when the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Indianapolis Colts at 9:30AM ET.

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Colts are favored in this game, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Jaguars. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 49 points. The Colts have won six of the last seven meetings with the Jags and the two have hit the under in eight of their last 10 encounters.

The Colts got their first win of the season last weekend, picking up a 26-22 victory at home over the Chargers. Indy is now 1-2 on the season while hitting the over in two of the three games. Not surprisingly, Indy is averaging 27 points and 390.3 yards per game on offense, but they are giving up 407.7 yards and 31.7 points per game on defense. Indy is really struggling against the pass, allowing 312 yards per game through the air. Injuries have been a problem for the secondary, and those aren’t healing up too quickly. Andrew Luck will be relied on again. He has thrown for 913 yards and six touchdowns this season while the run game has produced just 258 yards in three games.

The Jaguars are coming off a 19-17 loss at home to the Ravens to fall to 0-3 on the season, Gus Bradley could be finding his job on the line in this game as the team has arguably been the most disappointing in the NFL. The Jags have hit the over in two of the three games. Despite giving up 28 points per game, the Jags are allowing just 320.7 yards per contest. Reason for that is turnovers. Blake Bortles has thrown six interceptions this season to just five interceptions. The run game has really struggled as well, putting up only 165 yards in three games.

Jacksonville really tried to address the defense in the offseason and they seem to be better, but the offense isn’t helping. The Indy defense isn’t very good, though, so the Jags could find a spark on offense if Bortles can avoid turnovers. The Colts have been able to move the ball on everyone through the air, despite a poor rushing game. Look for both teams to find some big plays and put on a show in London.
