NFL Week 3 Injury Report
There will be some teams without some key players in Week 3 of the NFL season. Here’s a look at the latest news regarding the biggest injuries.
Dalvin Cook out
The Minnesota Vikings will be without their starting running back, Dalvin Cook, today against the Buffalo Bills at 1PM ET. Cook missed most of last season with a knee injury and now has a hamstring injury that will keep him out today. According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Vikings are still listed as a 16.5-point favorite at home against the Bills. The Vikings have had big expectations for Cook, but he hasn’t been able to get his career started. This year, he has rushed for just 78 yards on 26 carries. With Cook out, Latavius Murray will see an increased role. Murray has 61 yards on 15 carries.
Wentz back, Ajayi and Sproles out
The Eagles have some good news and some bad news. Quarterback Carson Wentz is back from his knee injury that kept him out of the playoffs, but running backs Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) are both out. Oddsmakers are listing the Eagles as a 7-point favorite at home against the Indianapolis Colts today. Wentz threw for 3,296 yards and 33 touchdowns last year before getting hurt. Ajayi has run for 85 yards on 22 carries while Sproles has just 10 yards on five carries. Corey Clement will fill in at running back.
Fournette could return
The Jacksonville Jaguars may get running back Leonard Fournette back today from his hamstring injury. Fournette was injured in the season opener at New York and missed last week’s win over the Patriots. He is listed as questionable for today’s game against the Tennessee Titans, but is expected to play. Oddsmakers are listing the Jaguars as a 10-point favorite against the Titans right now. Fournette has run for 41 yards on nine carries this year. His backup, T.J. Yeldon has run for 109 yards on 24 carries, but he is also questionable with an ankle injury.
