Lions vs. Eagles Week 3 Prediction
The banged-up Eagles will welcome a Lions team that produced an ugly win over the Chargers last week in Detroit. Where is the value for bettors when these two teams meet in Philadelphia today at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Game Snapshot
463 Detroit Lions (+5) at 464 Philadelphia Eagles (-5); O/U 45

Detroit Lions Fantasy Spin
Lions LT Taylor Decker (back) is questionable for the team's Week 3 matchup against the Eagles. Decker's absence would be bad news against the Eagles' loaded defensive line. Edge rusher Brandon Graham is one of just eight defenders with at least 11 pressures after two weeks of action
Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Spin
94WIP.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks reports there's a "pretty good chance" Alshon Jeffery (calf, questionable) suits up Sunday against the Lions. Shorr-Parks added that he also believes Dallas Goedert (calf, questionable) has a pretty good chance to suit up. Jeffery didn't practice all week. It seems unlikely he'd play a large portion of the offense's snaps if active. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside would see the biggest boost in snaps if Jeffery is ultimately sidelined. Mack Hollins is locked into 3-WR sets with DeSean Jackson (abdomen) already ruled out.
NFL Betting Trends
Detroit
The Lions are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games played in the month of September but are just 3-7 against the number in their last 10 games versus conference foes.
Philadelphia
The Eagles are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall but have dropped six of their last eight home games against the number.
Prediction
The Lions are getting a little too much love and I don’t understand why. The look-ahead line for this game was Eagles -8.5 but because a couple of receivers are hurt the number drops to 5? Doesn’t make sense. If Decker can’t go, Matthew Stafford and the Lions are in trouble. Detroit’s defense is flying under the radar but I don’t see how the Lions move the ball consistently enough to cover the spread or pull off the upset today in Philly. The Eagles are in a nice bounce back spot after losing last Sunday night in Atlanta.
