Mason Rudolph will replace the injured Ben Roethlisberger for the remainder of the season, including Sunday when the Steelers visit the 49ers at 4:25 p.m. ET. Will the two teams score enough points to cash the over?

Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Spin
James Conner (knee) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice. It means Conner will be good to go for Sunday's road trip to San Francisco. Conner was originally expected to barely practice this week. Off to a slow start, Conner will be contending with a 49ers defense that roughed up the Bucs' undermanned backfield and the Bengals' injured unit. With the Steelers making the switch to Mason Rudolph under center, Conner will be a mid-range RB2.
San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Spin
Jimmy Garoppolo completed 17-of-25 passes for 297 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the 49ers' Week 2 win over the Bengals. It's a nice rebound for Garoppolo after a shaky opener. Garoppolo started fast with a pair of 30-plus yard touchdowns to Marquise Goodwin and Raheem Mostert He added a goal-line throw to Deebo Samuel for his final score in the third quarter. Garoppolo still forced some passes -- throwing his interception into heavy coverage -- but this was a step forward. Even in a plus matchup against the Steelers secondary, Garoppolo is a middling QB2 for Week 3.
NFL Betting Trends
Pittsburgh
The under is 36-15 in their last 51 road games and 4-1 in their last five games following a straight up loss.
San Francisco
The over is 4-1 in the 49ers’ last five games played in the month of September and is 7-1 in their last eight games coming off a win.
Prediction
The Steelers passing game had issues even with Big Ben under center but perhaps Rudolph will spark Pittsburgh against a San Francisco defense that still has a long ways to go when it comes to shutting opponents down. Meanwhile, Garoppolo has looked very sharp in the early going, especially after he struggled to shake off the rust in preseason. Now healthy and running Kyle Shanahan’s creative offensive system, I like the Niners to score plenty and for the combined score at Levi’s Field to go over the total.
